Biewers ARE parti's from Germany. But just as with traditional colored yorkies, they will not all fit the show standard, so those that are not show standard will sell for less.

I'm guessing that the percentage of white is what differentiates the show dogs from the non show dogs.

No Biewer's are not registered with AKCf. They are registered in a German or European registry. The Parti yorkies are AKC registered, but not showable because no standards hase been set for them yet. Here is a picture of a parti baby that I'm considering. Harlie.JPG And yes they are pure yorkies, they just carry a piebald Gene like the Biewers

For a breeder to tell people they cost less if they don't have 60% white is wrong. This breeders dog has too much white. It does not have the correct colors on the head and the rims of the eyes should be dark.

| The standard for Biewers says white leg/paws, white belly, white tip on tail and three colors on head. The back can be blue/black and white in any amounts. Also the head can be mostly dark as long as there is some white on it. It is better if the head coloring is symetrical. Biewers with more white should not cost more, but I did talk with another breeder that says she has more people requesting Biewers with a lot of white. Sounds to me like this breeder you found is capitolizing on that and charging people more for more white. I still have a wonderful larger male Biewer for sale and puppies due in February. Please see the for sale section. |
