| I am looking for a smaller male in the size of 2.5 lbs. There is a few 3.5 lbs males in the 1800 range. However the parents should be very small too! So you are better off getting one from a source where the parents can be seen too! |

| Well If you breed two dogs in the 5-7lb range you might get small puppies, but you are more likely to get 7lb dogs a small one here and there( and if the small one is bred to another small dog you WILL get throw backs of larger puppies, which is very dangerous to the dam). Even breeding 4lb females to a 3 1/2lb male you will get throw backs if the parents bloodline comes from larger dogs. It'svery important to know your dogs bloodline and family size before breeding smaller dogs. |

| I so agree with the size issue..I hate to see females that are bred that are under five pounds..and I hate to see such tiny males..they too scare me..I think 4 pounds is plenty small enough for a male. If you are breeding to a female that needs a male to be any smaller than that..then you are breeding a female that is too small..JMO If people want smaller than the standard yorkie why not try a chihuahua..they are smaller..
