| I'm from Lebanon, not too far from you! You probably won't find a female for under $1,000. Be careful where you buy, because this area has a lot of puppymills! If you want any more information, you can PM me and I would love to help you out!

| Thanks Amanda, Thank you do much for trying to help me, that is so nice of you. When I email a breeder what kind of things should I ask them? Sorry I am asking so many questions, I just want to make sure I get a healthy puppy. When you hear back for the breeders and any of them have a female in my price range, letting my know would be wonderful. Again thanks for your help. Crystal |

| You're welcome When initially emailing a breeder, you don't have to ask too many questions. You just want to know if he/she has what you want. Ask if they have any current litters, or if they will have any litters before spring. Tell them you are interested in a female, and ask how much they usually sell their females for. Make sure to tell them a little bit about yourself, like the fact that you are a stay-at-home mom. Once they email you back, if they have anyone that you might like, you can start asking them more personal questions. Ask how long they have been breeder, if they have the parent's on site, how many litters they have a year, where were the puppies raised and how were they socialized, what are the pedigrees of the puppies, and if they have a health guarentee. A good breeder will be able to answer all of those questions, and will be glad you asked. Hope that helps!

| Amanda.... We were in Lebanon in July....my family and I were coming back from Canada and my parents had a wreck on I-81 at mile marker 96.5...they hydroplaned and went over the embankment......my children were in the van with them.... Ya'll should get a new ambulance soon...as I think I have made the next downpayment on one, LOL!! We spent a month and a half in Hershey at the Trauma center and travelled often to Lebanon to get something to eat (got tired of eating in Hershey!!!). That area is very nice with lots to see and do. BTW....welcome to YT Crystal....you'll find lots of helpful info here and very nice people. |

| And to Crystal, I forgot to mention that if you can't find the right female for you, you could always try males. Most of the males I have seen ARE under $1000, so that might work out for you.

| I never thought about getting a male. Do male pee all over the house to mark their space? Are males more aggersive then females. I also have an 8 month female old jack russell mix, she is fixed, but i don't know how a male dog would act around a female dog. Crystal |

| I have never owned a male, but a lot of people here actually claim their males are less aggressive than their females. As for lifting their legs, some males do, and some don't. Many members here have found that problem easily solved by using "belly bands." If you go to search at the top of this site, and type in belly bands, I think you will find a lot of helpful information. Many members here also claim that males and females are a better mix than females and females. Ultimately it is up to you and your wants, but it sounds like a male could be right for you.

| Thanks, I think a male might be better. I want to look it to males a little more. Also, i heard yorkies are not good with small kids, do you know if this is true? Crystal |
