| Looking for a Morkie Hi guys, I do realize this is a yorkie site. I signed up back when my little Bijou the yorkie was alive. When he passed, I found a small, local breeder of yorkies and called about one on her web page. Turned out to be a morkie. She just does a few morkie litters a year. I fell IN LOVE with this mix. Unfortunatley, Julio ended up having reverse PDA (hole in the heart) and died at six months. I'm still heart broken and am searching for another Morkie who would be available soon. Through my searching, I have come across the horrors of puppy mills, online puppy borkering, etc., and i DO NOT want to support that industry in any way. It seems impossible to know who is who online. Does anyone know of anyone who does breed morkies who is a decent, kind, ethical breeder? I realize most breeders don't mix breeds but surely there has to be someone out there who raises this mix and is also legit and ethical? I've hit a wall trying to find one, and thought I would turn to you here, as I know you truly love your dogs and may have connections to someone who breeds morkies. |

| To avoid that heartbreak again, I would recommend you look for a reputable AKC breeder. You will not be able to get a maltese/yorkie mix, but you will get a healthy puppy. I would search for one on YTCA.org and ask about what health testing they do on their dogs.

| Reputable breeders don't breed mixes they breed to better the breed and morkie is not a breed so unless your lucky any morkie you get from a breeder could have genetic issues and other things wrong with it because only reputable breeders do genetic testing. If your that set on a morkie I would look at your local shelters.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Please go to a shelter or rescue if you want a Morkie. There are no reputable breeders that breed mixes. They are back yard breeders or puppy mills. You can contact the YTCA for a yorkie or Maltese club . You will not be sorry.

As a mobile dog groomer for 24 years now, most of my pet clipping/grooming clients dogs are mixes, small breed mixes. They certainly have their health issues and sometimes with mixes of many breeds managed to have the genetic issues of each of the purebreds in their mixes. there was a breeder of Goldendoodles, Labradoodles selling scads of puppies some years back. Most of those had hip displasia and ended up being a very heartbreaking experience for the puppy buyers. | |

Yorkie Talker | Morkies are not a shelter dog... I got news for a lot of people morkies are considered a designer breed...they are running about 2k ,cheapest I saw was 1400.00 ..they are being breed to take the best traits out of both dogs..my freind bought one she paid 1800.00 this dog is now 4 and has never had any health problems..go figure..we got a yorkie cuz my husband wanted a little ewak look, cuz we are from the age group of Star Wars..but my daughter and I wanted a morkie..but oh well we are very very happy with Gianni it don't matter if he was a stray or a Hines 57 ..I would Ove him the same....morkies are very expensive, they are cute some if turn out right... |

Yorkie Talker | Please understand why people do get defensive on mixing breed. I do understand Lorain's side as well.. A lot of people want to keep the pure breed look..because of dog shows or the beauty of the breed..I love to..if people keep mixing breed it will die out.I'm only stating facts I know about morkies in previous post..but as far as inbreeding...Not cool at all..you need to think of your dog as a family member and treat it like a family member,or don't have a dog period weather it's a shelter dog or a purebred..I don't think you would want to have a child with a family member...dogs know they are related ..case in point I have a bichon she was aggressive and could not be around other dogs male or female..her little sister I got because my freind bought it and had to move to another country with his job..he called and asked me would I take her she was 6 months younger..I said we will try it..they played together like they knew each other forever..never a fight nothing even share food and toys..so please people don't inbreed dogs..it is gene pools you are messing with and can ruin that breed of dog...look back at king tut and the whole line of his family..that is why .if it happens in humans it can certainly happen in dogs..dogs can be born with Down syndrome also..and have a lot of diseases that humans get..be responsible don't just breed for the money either..not cool..to use an animal like that..they need to make laws really strict on that..that is another form of abuse to keep breeding and breeding..thin get rid of it ..for your own personal greed.. By the way Loraine love your babies they are very beautiful.. My name is Bobbie to for a girl.. Is your Bobby a boy or girl..cuz the y on end I'm assuming it's a boy..🙂 |
