| I am going to the Animal Control in the morning. They have 12 yorkies some are puppies. $51 for females and 41 for the males. I will try to get at least 1 maybe 2. I thought it was 51 for males when I put the tread on about it but looked in to it and the boys are $41.00

| I live 15 minutes away from the shelter, but I am a school teacher and I can't take a day off. This is my first year teaching and I don't have any spare time. My husband works in D.C. and leaves the house at 4:30am. I would love to go rescue and adopt one of these yorkies but I have no means to do so. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Brendarash said all the adults & current pups were gone, but that there were a couple that had to wait till they had their pups, so you might try giving them a call.

Is it really fair for a puppy to be left alone that long? Will you be able to come home during your lunch break to check on them, take them for a quick walk/exercise in the yard? Dogs need their humans and being left at home for 8+ hours a day is very lonesome for them. If you are set on getting a puppy I would find a reputable breeder and see if you can bring the puppy home during your summer break. That way you would have 2+ months to train, socialize, and get your pup into a routine. Again, I'm not trying to discourage you from getting a yorkie, I work full time and I live alone, but I make it home during lunch everyday to play and let him out to potty and it works for the both of us. Ideally I'd be able to bring him to work, but I'm not allowed The YTCA is a great place to start if you want to purchase, otherwise a yorkie rescue is a wonderful thing. Good luck on your puppy search! | |

| The puppy will be with my mother during the day. Plus, my husband gets home at 2:00 from work. We were just unable to get to the shelter. Being around for the puppy is not a problem for us. We have it all figured out and have had many discussions about time. Thank you for your concern though! |
