I don't get that tone from those posts at all! People SHOULD BE cautioned and know the facts when someone is on here selling puppies. This isn't the first time people post one price on YT and they are running ads elsewhere for hundreds less! Not everyone is on the up and up or has the best of intentions when they are trying to sell here and people need to do their research.

However, to post PRIVATE messages in a public forum is tacky...let's look at them again, and see if you don't think they're private: Alyssa. It was nice talking to you both yesterday and today. I hope it works out for Lexi. PLEASE be very careful in the type of home you place her in. Tinies need a specific type of home and care, prefereably with someone home most of the time with her. I think I was fair in what I offered and realize that it was not the amount you wanted, but sometimes we can't recoup all our money and it's more important to lose a little and know you've placed her in the right home. That's certainly your choice though. As I said to you, I'd be driving about six hours and her vetting with the spay will cost me another atleast $500.00. Should you change your mind, you have my number. As I said to you, I'll gladly supply you with vet references as well as personal references and you are always welcome to come to my home for a visit. More importantly she'd be supplied the best of everything including vet care, have someone home with her all the time and a sister the same size as herself. Good Luck. Elaine Alyssa. My husband said you called today. I just got in from being out with my boys all day. I did just try to call you back. I see your posts on here. As I said to you, my offer stands at $500. I don't know all the specifics about you, your advertisment etc. I'm taking a chance and putting trust here that you're not a broker, but just a young girl that may have made a few mistakes and who needs to find a good home for your little girl. As far as the $$ I will not go over $500. I do have the money to pay for her vet care, food, grooming etc. You are more then welcome to check out my references, come to my home and see my Yorkies and speak to personal references. I've been involved with rescue for at least ten years and have taken in the ones no one wanted. I've spent more then I can tell you on their care. My girls are all spayed, up to date on shots, on heart worm preventative, etc. Believe me, I would do without before they ever did. I think my offer was fair. As I said I will need to vet her and spaying here in NJ (I have the vet bill from Brooke's spaying) is around $500. Sure I could take her to a spay clinic and have it done, but with such a tiny one it is very risky as it is and I would ONLY take her to my vet who I've used for the past 13 years. They use the safest annastgia and they take all precautions including blood work etc. We were very successful having him spay Brooke. She is only 2.5 lbs. full grown. And, again he would be the ONLY ONE I would trust to do it and only when he said it was safe. I'll be home tonight if you want to talk, but again I will not go over $500, but will provide her the best of the best for the rest of her life. And, at any time you would be more then welcome to come to my home and see for yourself the care she is getting. I myself do the home visits for the rescue I work with and I'm very picky about them, and hold myself up to the same or better standard wise. Believe me she'd want for nothing and woud be very happy little girl here and I can assure you she'd never be rehomed again. Elaine Let's see....she started out with "Alyssa" both times, and ended with "Elaine". Sounds like a private email/message/letter to me!! Also, the bolded portions above are PRIVATE, between Alyssa and Elaine...not the rest of the world!! Good grief! Show some class!! IMO, when you offer up every detail of a private conversation to the general public as Elaine did, you are absolutely showboating! I think it's tactless and rude. AND AGAIN, I AGREE THAT HER WORD OF CAUTION WAS JUST FINE!! (And personally, I do think people should be warned if anyone has knowledge of anything questionable at all about a person trying to sell anything!) But her airing private conversations for everyone to read is a COMPLETELY different matter, and shows no class on her part whatsoever. You can disagree if you like...that's your prerogative. Facts are facts though.

I really don't know if any of the information was sent in private messages or not. I know that her responses to the OP are stating facts that the OP herself stated in the open thread. You are right, I do see things differently. It would be different if a third party posted private messages, but she stated her thoughts and feelings on the matter and even the bolded parts are easy to figure out in all the responses on this thread and past posts on this site. I guess what I don't understand is you feeling Elaine has no class, tactless & rude, but no mention of the poster advertising her puppy here for hundreds more then ads she had running elsewhere ![]() I guess we will just have to agree to disagree because the way I see it, Elaine was just trying to give this puppy a good home and had the best of intentions.

(see above). The 1st tactless message Elaine posted was BEFORE anyone had mentioned the discrepancy between the selling prices (even to her). I've said all I'm going to say. I just felt with everyone supporting Elaine and her lack of tact, SOMEONE needed to say SOMETHING.

| Excuse me but where do you get off making accusations like that? She was not tacky at all! She was being HONEST and BLUNT! Alot of people on here end their posts with their name. It's a nice gesture to show who you are. And big deal she said Alyssa at the beginning she was putting her name so everyone knew who her post was towards. I honestly don't find anything wrong with that she did. Alot of people have read the thread and were very interested in what was going on with the puppy. You also read many of us who were supporting Elaine with getting this puppy. We are all friends and curious as to what was going on. So Elaine posted everything on the thread so her side of the story is here, in black and white for EVERYONE to see. How dare you call that rude? It's being truthful. I think YOUR being VERY RUDE attacking her in this manner. Where the heck are your manners, obviously your mother didn't teach you well enough. |

| Tara, I agree with you. The cautionary post about other ads on Hoobly are fine. However, if she doesn't want to take $500, she doesn't want to take $500. This isn't an auction and if Elaine wanted to discuss money privately, she should have done so through PM. There is nothing wrong with the OP refusing an offer and she shouldn't have to defend her actions. This is HER dog and she is allowed rehome it at her discretion.

| Thanks guys who came on to defend me. I haven't been on YT in a while. Had dental surgery and haven't been online. To those that wondered whether I got this little girl. I didn't. The girl's mom called and I was suppose to go and meet her, etc, but I had unexpected/emergency dental surgery and was unable to make the almost six hour drive. I feel very badly about it and hope this little girl found a great home. And, now to those that found it necessary to come on her and stir things up. You have your opinions and I have mine. Really no point in arguing and to keep it going with comments is childish. Elaine |
