I think a lot of breeders prefer not to put a price up due to negotiations. That way, you have more options when finding a perfect forever home. If you place an ad with a $800 price tag, quite a few people who cannot afford the dog will not bother calling. The goal is to find a perfect home. There is no way this woman will give away this beautiful dog, but it's doubtful she will let the best home slide away because of an intimidating price tag. As for the dog being tiny, anyone with a brain regarding breeding can make that judgement upon seeing the dog. So don't judge, don't assume and don't insult. It makes you look caddy and negative. Everyone is here for a reason. We all share common grounds and love our animals. To bully and gossip about people is just unattractive. Maybe we can suggest ideas instead of making nasty comments.

But that is just the problem, many people try to breed not knowing breeding such a tiny one will lead to problems. Or they breed knowing full well what they are doing....trying to exploit a tiny dog!

Oh btw, I do have an idea though....why doesn't the OP spay the female before placing her?

Exploiting? That's a bit outrageous. And I don't think the dog is sitting at the Humane Society. I have an English Bulldog and a Boston Terrier that I bought from a breeder. Neither of these dogs were spayed. Why don't you call peta. They might care because honestly, no one is going to pay $800-$900 dollars for a bunk dog. You pay for quality. So stop being so ridiculous. Maybe if you wanted to buy a dog from a pet store at the mall.... You know, the stores who get their pups from a PUPPY MILL. The stores who sell you dogs with undiagnosed diseases, inbreed animals, dogs who are ONLY FIVE WEEKS OLD... They will provide you with a fixed dog. They might even give you a cage but they will not provide a proper guarantee or knowledge like the original owner will. This woman is hardly exploiting her "small" dog. She is simply advertising with HONESTY. You are commenting on something you know nothing about. All of your little comments and assumptions lack credibility. So why don't you spay the dog? I'm sure if you offered to pay for it, the OP would GLADLY accept.

If you were the one BUYING a yorkie you would the breeder to be honest up front about any health problems but you think it's ok to sell to someone and not be up front with your buyer?? I see you are new to Yorkietalk, while I don't think we should judge people as "human beings" we should judge them as breeders, that's what we do, and recommend others do as well. We also encourage breeders to become better breeders, and one of the ways the OP can do this, is to place this dog in a home that is well aware of the challenges that they might have. The OP said that she has been breeding and showing for years, and it's rather upsetting that she's never heard that you shouldn't breed tinies.

I was just thinking the same thing. These threats from "breeders" involving innocent pups are so mean and totally uncalled for... I would like to see reprimands issued in these cases.

Yes! Well I for one hope admin is really taking into consideration about suspending members for threatening to do cruel things to their pups.

I'm not sure if you read previous posts by the OP (who is now suspended), but if you did you would see that she is selling a puppy that has an open fontanel & was diagnosed (and then suddenly wasn't diagnosed) with swimmer's syndrome. Oh and she did put a price on that puppy $900 ($1000 on YT.)
I believe the reason the female didn't have a price is more then likely dependent upon if someone wants to buy her and continue to breed her, (all 3 1/2 lbs of her.) JMO
The problem is she WASN'T advertising with honesty because she didn't mention the problems that her puppy had!
Also, most reputable breeders spay the dogs they breed before selling them!
