| ![]() **copied from my other post, I posted it in the wrong thread** Asking this much for a pup/dog is almost a gaurentee (sp) that the pup/dog will be bought as a fashion accessory... those that buy yorkies for the love of the breed, generally do their homework and will know that this is an outragous (sp) price, they will also know that having an open spot in the bones in his head isn't normal, and by looking at the pictures you can tell something isn't right, they eyes are bulging and wide set... the pup in my eyes doesn't look like yorkie standard. This is why I believe setting the price for this pup isn't to ensure a good home, it will be a fashion statement, taking advantage of his small size to thicken ones bank account. If you want to make sure the pup goes to a good home, price it way down to the normal range, interview the potential buyers, talk to their vets, visit their home.... you know, what most good reputable breeders do. This is all just MHO, someone said their fear is that more people will breed too small of dogs trying to get very small pups, selling them at a high price... this is also my fear... reminds me of what puppy mills do, disregard the health of the dogs they are breeding, (in this case breeding way too small of dogs to get a small pup) and keep their bank accounts full.... |

| ![]() I did not mean to scare anyone...tinies can be very, very healthy..it is the person who cares for them to some extent. They are not for everyone. If a person wants a Yorkie that needs normal care, a tiny is not for them. There are many who live a long life, many do not ..and that is because the owners lifestyle may not work well...some are prone to low blood sugar all their life. If you have a lifestyle where they can eat regular, not be stressed out and taken to the vet for any bowel problems, then they can be just fine. Unfortunely I see quite a few do not do well because of the owner. |

My guess is she will get offers over the $8500 and she will get to interview and choose from several possible adoptive parents....that is what usually happens in the case of these really tiny ones in my experience. Please hang in their Yorkiestolove, a lot of us feel you are doing the right thing by this little guy and hope he goes to a greaT HOME! ![]() | |

| ![]() [QUOTE=SoCalyorkiLvr]That makes no sense...of course this is a great place to advertise...more chance od finding someone who KNOWS about yorkies and is looking for a dog like hers. My guess is she will get offers over the $8500 and she will get to interview and choose from several possible adoptive parents....that is what usually happens in the case of these really tiny ones in my experience. I agree this is a good place to advertise, but I strongly disagree that someone will offer her MORE than the $8500 -- you hit the nail on the head when you said, "in the case of these really tiny ones" -- I think that is referring to them being "accessorized" as in the Paris Hilton case.... the more money something cost, the more the "I want it because if it cost that much, there MUST be something to it". I wonder if these same people that you are guessing will offer more than 8500.00 would do the same if the lady was asking 700.00 for her. Must be nice to have that kind of money extra!!! |

| ![]() While I can respect the fact that some people would pay $8500 because they have those funds available, I for one wouldn't unless I had an immediate deep bond, not just "oh what a cute puppy" type of bond. Every puppy is cute and priceless, but $8500 is a bit excessive in my opinion. I understand that breeders go through a lot to care for these tinies but I hardly think it was $8500 worth. If this person did I would want to see receipts for all the care, making the dog worth that much. I've seen even tinier than this puppy that went for less.
