Looking, Looking, Looking...Male or Female Yorkie Hello, I count this night a blessing, that I happened to be on Craig's List today, and posted a message that I was looking for a yorkie puppy, and a kind women told me about this website...I don't even have a yorkie yet, but I am so excited and happy...LOL Anyway, I live in the Philadelphia area, and am looking for a yorkie puppy, that is somewhat close to my area, that either someone wants to bless me with, as a gift, or even give to me at a very reasonable price. I am not the richest person in the world...lol...but I have a lot of love and affection in my heart, and want to give it to my new BFF (Best Friend Forever) Birthday is coming up soon...and this would be such a wonderful gift to myself...or rather from you to me. If anyone out there feels my pain, and sincerity, send me a message. Even some recommendations on where I can go to possibly adopt a yorkie that just needs love and a home. Thanks a lot for you guys' help, in advance!! Jared

first i hope you have a great birthday second there are lots of websites to look at petfinder.com puppyfind.com kijiji.com hoobly.com honestly no one will give a yorkie away, they have too much time and money invested. shelters are a great way to go but still arent cheap minimum is 200.00 and they are seniors occassionally you will see an older one for around 400+..just keep you eyes and ears open and surf the web...beware of scammers

Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I don't want to come across in a bad way but I'm sure I will ...it's against Yorkie Talk rules to come on here asking for free or cheap Yorkies. You have been given some great sites to check for reasonably priced Yorkies for adoption. Rescued dogs are usually very grateful to be in a good home and they make wonderful pets. Good luck in your search.

| It doesn't sound like she is asking for a "Free" or "cheap" yorkie, just one that is reasonably priced. Not everyone can afford the $1200-2000 some people ask..

Welcome, I was in the same boat when I got my first baby. There was no way my husband was going to let me spend $2000 on a puppy. But we ended up meeting the most AMAZING breeder. Our first dog from her was a 2 year old when we got her. The dog HATED being shown and they had bred her once but didn't want to keep her in their breeding program. So they were looking for a good pet home for her. The upside: I got an amazingly trained and HEALTHY yorkie AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH POTTY TRAINING. Oh yes, and now I am close with my breeder, so I got a good friend out of the deal too.

petfinder.com Check out petfinder.com. I found one of my dogs that way. My Yorkie Chloe, a puppymill rescue, I adopted from a fostering family (via the Humane society) when she was about a year old, spayed and fairly well potty trained. Of course then the puppymill survivor issues have to be dealt with, but it is rewarding if you are patient. Sometimes rescue groups get puppymill puppies very young. I am considering adopting my third yorkie(I know I am crazy) and he is only a few months old and will cost me about $400. Since he is young he is not really affected by the psychological stuff. It depends on what you want. If you have never had a dog before a puppymill dog might not be for you. I live in Wisconsin and we hope that legislation that will essentially close down puppymills will finally pass this year and remove this shameful industry from this state.
