TINY, TINY (2-3 LB. Adult wt.) AKC Yorkie WANTED!! *Gender doesn't matter *I want a GOOD representation of the breed, I have seen WAY too may poorly bred mutts *I would prefer an older dog to a puppy (about 6-8 months +) *I'm willing to pay as much as $3,500 for what I am looking for. (But I will NOT pay cash) *I live 10 minutes from Los Angeles, CA, in the SFV, and I would prefer local, or at least within the neighboring states (AZ, UT, OR, NM, CO, WA)

lots of breeders will not take anything but cash. Far too many scams going on. Puppy gone before we find out check is no good. Some will take a check or money order for the deposit only. Balance is paid in cash. Good luck on finding your baby.

I'm sorry but I just feel obligated to point out that 2-3 lbs is not a "GOOD representation of the breed".

Consider Paypal & warning re: tiny tiny!! Most honest breeders will accept Paypal that will protect you if dispute is filed by you. Warning about paying so much for tiny tiny unless you get a "written guarantee, if Yorkie exceeds weight you paid extra for, partial refund offered" I lost $,1300 payed extra for 2# that is now 3 1/2pounds. Total cost 3,600. Most savvy breeder will tell you, know one can really tell weight unless you wait until about 5 or 6 months until Yorkie is full grown re:weight

I have to say I feel the same way about cash...I don't like to use it. I prefer paypal so that if something were to happen, I can get it back. Be careful with the tinies...they're not always the healthiest...

I could not imagine even having one that small..I don't think Ginger is going to make 5 lbs..hoping she does, but, to me she is too tiny, and I sure wouldn't want one that small(imo)

YT 1000 Club Member | But sometimes a reputable breeder ends up having a tiny in a litter. As long as she is looking for one that wasn't bred like that on purpose then I see no problem. And plus the standard is to not exceed 7lbs, It's just prefered 3-7 I believe (I could be wrong).. Last edited by love_me_cody; 02-19-2008 at 06:26 PM. Reason: final thought |

That is true, neither Ryder, Faith, or Sophie were bred to be tinies. Sophie is 3.5 lbs and parents are 4 and 6.5 lbs Faith is 2.5 lbs and parents are 5 and 6 lbs Ryder is 2 lbs and parents are 4 and 5.5 lbs All I said was to be careful with the tinies and do your research...they can be more difficult to care for and do usually carry more health issues.

I remember when I said I wanted a 2lb Yorkie. I searched and searched and finally decided one that was going to be 3lbs grown. Now Riley is 9 months and hes barely 3lbs. I can't imagine having one any smaller than him fully grown. He is still extremely tiny.

Yes, that's EXACTLY why I WON'T pay cash-- there's no record and no recourse in it.
