Irene, I just went back to look to see if you had included a pic in this post and I think I lost the rest of my post. Anyhow, I was saying I surely hope you find a home SOON for your little lady. I havea question JFMI..what is the X-ray they do to check for L-C-P in puppies? Or did you mean the parents? I bought a handsome boy to use for breeding and when he was 6-8 months he started to limp. We had to anesthetize him to get the proper X-rays.

| Rini, Thanks for the well wishes in finding her a home. If the perfect one doesn't come along well then she is gonna stay right here. I was speaking of the parents being xrayed. I feel starting for a 'clean slate' would help in minimizing some of these hereditary defects in my lines. Although genetics are tricky. Something can creep up from the past. Hasn't happend yet!! | Irene-- I applaud you and your ethics and your love for your babies!!! I really do appreciate what you do for them and for the breed. I live in NE ohio and I have been checking your website all the time!!! I know that when my hubby and I are ready, we would love to know more about your breeding program. We would love a brother or sister for Luigi but, right now we are buying house and moving (not too far from where we are) and its not a good time for a new baby. Hopefully in a year or so. We especially love your girls- Mandy and Izzy since that is my name!!! But all your babies are soo adorable and darling!!! I really do wish there were more breeders like you!!! Hopefully you will find a wonderful home for Delisha!!! Good Luck!! ~Mandy Iezzi~

You guys are all sooo sweet! I truly appreciate the support! Here is a recent picture of Delisha I took this AM. Don't mind the extra hair on her ears. I worry that I'll nick the ear if I trim too close.. Hugs, Irene Last edited by admin; 07-10-2005 at 04:31 PM.

Irene, I thought that was what you meant but wanted to check. I bought a really nice male for stud. I have known his lines for over 5 gens and no LCP. Jacob started to limp at about 8 month of age, we anesthetized him and did his dentals and X-ray. He sure enough had LCP. I gave him to a vet tech and paid for his surgery. He is happy and well and hardly limps..and is a therapy dog in a rehab program. Isn't the a great success story??

If your vet does it and it is for diagnostic purposes for treatment, I am told they do not necessarily report it. If it is done as a prerequisite to using them as breed stock, then it most definitely gets reported..The Pennhip tests seem to be preferred in this area and they have their own registry..This is just from my knowledge.. You can imagine my surprise when I called Pat and described his limp..it just happened and I had appt with the vet to have him checked for an injury. Pat said it sounded like (OMG, I almost typed PMS) LCP.. She was right. That used to be called LP but it was confused with luxating patella LP..
