| YT 1000 Club Member | You're looking to breed your parti in the future right? Why not get a male? That way you won't be looking for a male yorkie and a female parti at the same time but have both together. Also, a female will (should at a maximum) produce 1 litter a year meaning 1 litter of partis but a male can produce more litters per a year of parti carriers. That way if you decide to keep a couple females in the future they will already carry the gene.... I hope I'm not putting a bad idea in your head... | You will get carriers if you breed to a parti.. but if you breed to a carrier.. you may not get any.. or all, if hes bred to a traditional .. .. So if you get a female. carrier.. you would have to have a male Parti... and then it's a 50 % chance that you will get any parti's from that breeding. I started out with a Male Parti.. then a year later finally got my female parti.. But when Noel was old enough ,, I bred him to my traditional girls and Got carriers.. so Now.. I have an another out -cross parti Male which will go to Noel's daughters.. That's Dinger.. I will enclose his adult picture.. Loretta |

| I have a quick question. Are Parti Yorkies AKC standard? Or are they registered with another registry?

so if you breed a female AKC Parti female to an AKC standard male.....what do you normally get? Would you get any parti babies?

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | Quick answer - No, you get standard colored babies, however those babies are now carriers of pie bald gene. Breeding one of those babies with another carrier and some of that litter may be parti colored. In other words..you can get a litter with standard colored puppies and parti colored.

Another question was asked about the carriers.. I think Tammy had answered this before... If you breed 2 carriers together,, you have 25% chance on getting a parti.. If you breed a parti to a carrier, you have 50 % chance of getting a parti.. So far I have bred 2 different carriers with My parti male.. the first had 2 partis and one carrier.. the 2nd girl had 1 parti and 2 carriers. So If you want to breed and don't want to have parti pups for a few years.. Then you can take the chance of trying 2 carriers and You might be lucky. You are more likely to get a parti, if a parti is one of the parents.. Loretta
