yorkie only show Hi! I am a relatively new yorkie owner, I want to attend a yorkie only show if one exists close enough for me to go. I live in Alabama. Does anyone know of such a show? Actually, I would probley fly out to one, I have never seen alot of show quality yorkies at all and I would love to just be around them, admire their coats and confirmation, etc. I read all the posts on this particular part of the YT site, I just don't post as I don't show my dog, sheis pretty , with a good pedigree, but too small 2.5 lbs. thanks for any info denise

Check on YTCA.org as Pat suggested. Those are the only Yorkie Specialties.

deniserae - You do not have to sit through a show all say just to see the yorkies at a regular show. If you check the ring times (they usually come out about a week before the show) - it will tell you what ring the yorkies are being show in and at what time. All rings are clearly marked. It is so easy! And many of the shows lately have large entry numbers - I think Franklin had 26 yorkies, which is a nice show. Some of the people here like Shirley went to it and can let you know that is a good number of yorkies. Speciality shows are the ones where only yorkies are at, but sometimes the specialty clubs/toy club will combine and have their shows at the same location and on the same day - like in Atlanta with the Rose Cluster. There is, www.ytca,org site you can check on the Speciality clubs (like Pat suggested), Onofrio for AKC shows to name one, also check on www.akc.org for show events. Good luck and hope to see you at some of the shows. T.

Oops...forgot something The show next weekend is at the Franklin location......I think it is called something else. I was just there at the same spot with another Club. I was told the one next weekend is at the same location at the Agriculture Center.. The All Breed Shows are really good too. You can learn a lot about other things at the show. I have never been to a Specialty yet, I dont think. All my shows have been All Breed. Email me if you want to know the exact location. Shirley If you live near Birmingham, it is just up 65 North.
