| Books or DVDs on showing? Training? Tracking device? Hello I am interested in showing my girl & want to train basic commands. Know of any good books or DVD/VHS. Also Petland says they have tracking devices in there dogs now, do they? Where can i get one in my dog? I guess its possible since they have them in cell phones now, must be pretty tiny. Not talking about the micro chip, I want a actual track my dog down if needed tracker. Suggestions appreciated. |

| Handling classes are the best places to learn to handle your dog for the ring. I do not know of any DVDs for this, but here is a place for DVDs on grooming (click in Best Choice area to see) - http://www.yorkyclub.com/ They also have show videos - http://www.yorkyclub.com/en/Products.asp?cat=12 T. | Although the technology exists for an implantable GPS chip, I don't know of any being done or at least not advertised. The implantable chips they offer at most vet's offices are not transmitters. They remain passive and are only read when scanned. The GPS pet units I have seen advertised attach to the collar and are too bulky for me to consider for our Yorkies. But many hunters use them. They come with an initial cost for the unit and then a monthly fee for the satellite service. Petland uses the microchip -- it has to be scanned to see the information and is not a GPS tracking unit: http://www.petland.com/PetlandNews/P...landNewsID=108

| thanks for the info. I figured they were probably just calling it a tracking device to keep people from walking off w/dogs. I knew the microchip was only used by scanning. Thanks guys. I will check all the links |

| There will be out soon a video on training the show yorkie. It is made by Sweetyblue, just look at their web site www.sweetyblue.com from time to time, they show it there when it is ready, you can find all videos on grooming and show videos on www.yorkyplanet.com I also got a great book, I bought it in America, so for you it would be even more easier to get it than for me it is called: The winning edge-Show ring secrets.

| ' Shirley, I'd have thought you would have had both of these videos from Sweety Blue.....The grooming ones, by the way both terrific. Looking forward to seeing the training one. I'm sure if there is any handling info in it it would be benificial.....but, there's nothing like getting in the ring when it comes down to training. By the way the yorkie club magazine from Europe is terrific. Wonderful articles from top breeders from all over the world, as well as judges.

| Have it in my library too. Mr Aliston does some great seminars. Did you visit the Eukanuba website.....he had a 90 minute online handling training video, not sure if it's still there, great and informative.
