Congratulations !!! your first point. You are on your way.

You will find the people that seem snobby, are sometimes just busy, maybe if you catch them at a better time they will be nicer. Yes there are always going to be people that are not nice but that is not just at dog shows it is every where.

I confronted Georgette Franzoni about the snobbiness and she told me yorkie people weren't actually snobby but very intense. We both laughed! We competed today with Caraneal, Laurel Glen, Thimbletip, and top handlers like Kurston McGregor and David Fitzpatrick. It's a bit intimidating. Connor took a second, we just can't beat that Caraneal dog!!! I guess we'll just have to keep trying.

Congratulations Tami! Second is great. Course, Connor is so beautiful, absolutely deserves firsts.

Thanks so much, I just need to stay focused and not let them intimadate me. We had 3 specials in the ring today and each one was more incredible than the next!

This may be a little off topic, but, quite possible, these people aren't really snobs, they're just extremely cautious. So many reputable breeder/exhibitors have been lied to in the past that they are just a little "gun shy" as we say down here. They have trusted new people with their experience, knowledge and sometimes dogs only to have these people take advantage. They work so hard to breed for quality and then to have someone come along and take a show quality puppy and just breed to anything, where their lines can wind up in the hands of backyard breeders advertising "champion lines". It may make them appear snobbish, but maybe they're just putting on the bullet proof vest until they are certain they are not going to be hit from behind.
When they see you are for real and actually are doing your best to promote the betterment of the breed, they will come around. (JMO)
And, since this thread was actually started in Nov...How is the showing going?

We're having a ball. Connor has his UKC championship and we're working on AKC, we just have to get past Caraneal which is some major competition.
