Makes me ill!!!! Can't help but wonder if the "good ole boy" system was a part of the reduction of charges....

This article states that prosecutors "agreed to reduce all charges to misdemeanors." I thought this happened when the accused was going to plead guilty, but he plead not guilty. Why then were the charges reduced?? Makes no sense.
