And a rich purple was also popular, but you have to be careful with this color as it can make the tan/gold look washed out. I like to use other colors and I think the judges like it too.

I like the simpler topknots also. I think the big puff makes them look angry.

We learn something new everyday, don't we. No, we can and have used different colors - just depends on what we like personally. I think so many have used red - others thought it was a rule, but no. You can use any color.
I do not think it makes them lool angry. I have seen some puffs flop over in their face, but usually it is because it was put in wrong, or the dog made it loose, or bands break, so it is not tight enough. It is not easy sometimes putting a topknot up right with a moving head. Luckily they get use to it and sit still as they get older. Puppies are the hardest.

Here is another one of my babies from the 1980s at a Breed Club Fun Match. This is Camile and was from another breeder. She has a pink bow in. I also use other colors in adult dogs too.

How do you like the red with white poka dots on my girl? I love bows of different colors and styles.
