For me that is the best way, that way I'm not looking for this and that, just pack everything into the car. I was reading this post from another thread and thought it would be appropriate to cross post here since it is about show supplies and very helpful (all of your advice usually is)...
Reading your post, I had to smile...
I just started showing, but I have started doing the same thing.
Start the laundry as soon as I get home and repack everything in it's own corner so it's ready to go.
I still need to aquire enough supplies to have separate stay at home grooming area brushes, scissors, etc and "show/go" things, it just seems I have favorites of certain things.
The lists are a great idea though!
Last weekend, I almost forgot my garment bag/show clothes.
I have 4 grown sons, close in age.
I think travelling and keeping them "together" as toddlers prepared me well for the show ring - it seems to be about organization and preparedness - emphasis on the "PRE"! LOL
Do you pack in those big plastic boxes?
I have seen some people do this...

Hard to imagine - you seem so "put together" when I met you and Radar in Feb - in spite of all the travel glitches and pressure!

I've used plastic boxes, but it became so cumbersome, I ended packing really more than I needed. So, I've cut back and pack what I need in a large carry on zippered tote, one for the room and one for the show site.

behind the scenes I can be very scattered LOL...show time, is show time
There were a lot of travel glitches but I recovered nicely LOL

Last wkend even though an indoor show the breeze was blowing through and I found it very difficult to iron coat and in particular to put in the topknot. So I begged a spot out of the breeze and then things improved. I'm going to see if there is someway I could set up in my van if worse comes to worse, breeze wise.

We do have that problem with the BRT's too - how-ever I've learned to do the show cut off site... then if God is good and gives me no wind I can touch up the topline a bit prior to show. Even though lots of problems with outdoor shows, there is nothing to beat them on a grand sunny temperate day!.

I have this - the mini or R6. I love it. Don't know how it does outdoors though. I am told it is only a problem in soft-wet or muddy ground.

Oh it can get very hot here in S. California and all the shows are outside--Claremont, San Diego, Turlock, Los Angeles. We generally don't do any shows from May to September because it can be over 100 degrees.

The lists are great. When we fly to a specialty, there usually is a walmart or kmart nearby where you can buy a wooden snacktable to use for grooming. I always donate the snacktable to the host club for next time.
