Why would your basic run of the mill (pun intended) breeder want to stop making $? For the love of the dog/breed?

I know you already shoulder a great responsibility doing what you do, and I SUPPORT it in every way. But breeders need to clean up their own clubs before they start pointing fingers at everyone else. I am in NO WAY saying that YOU are needing to do that, I'm simply stating that YTCA and AKC are in no way perfect. Neither is PETA.

It does not matter how small you are. What matters is that laws change, and quality of LIFE changes and euthanasia of UNWANTED pets STOPS!

I don't think you will ever see the day where you will not be able to own a pet, and if you believe that you will, that is up to your belief.

I am not trying to change your mind about PETA or HSUS, I myself do not belong to either group, but I can respect those that do, I have a lot in common with both you and them, for starters we all belong to the same forum :D.

Thank you. And that's all I think we're (whoever might be a member of *any* group) asking for...is mutual respect. I offer the same in return and try to disagree respectfully.

Overall, in threads where I'm in disagreement *with* a member here, I would never call someone this or that or imply they're something quite heinous...it does not foster learning and discussion. It does the opposite...so when a thread goes like that...sorry...I won't "argue" the "argument"...because it's not a discussion at all, at that point. (this last paragraph is not addressed to you, Mary)

Hahahaha...Ain't that the truth!

Not getting into this debate...but I will say,after doing much investigating, I will not support PETA nor the Humane Society. My money will go toward animal rescue and education.

Thanks! I think it took me too long to post that because I deleted and edited too much!

My post was in generalities and in no way fashioned toward a specific breeder. I just want us all to get along!

To your point of my "hypocrisy in supporting breeders" - after THIS THREAD...YES...you are really making me wonder whether I should continue my AVID support of ETHICAL breeders. You can focus on Peta and I can focus on my beautifully bred and perhaps the most incredible Yorkshire Terrier on the face of this earth. That would be Stryker, and he and I are done with the DEBATE as we have very important show business to take care of.

I mentioned that rescues, pet owners, ethical breeders should shoulder the load.

I believe that as long as we continue to be educated, we will be able to continue pet ownership. However, it's an uphill battle for those fighting legislation that is attempting to stamp out pet ownership rights.

Yes, you've made it clear that you consider it NOT disrespectful to imply that I'm a terrorist and a hypocrite. I actually take offense to your generalization of your comment to me, as just being "SOUTHERN". Enough with the labels. Seriously.

Okay...OH MY GOSH,
I'm southern....I say "My Dear" "Sweety", and "Honey" to EVERYONE. If you took offense to it....My opologies!! I was referring to myself as southern not you (I think that was clear) and I'm quite proud to be southern. Not sure how my being southern is offensive to you. I only have a puppy to show :( Flights out here were hideous--a few people from CA tried to get out there but their flights were cancellend and the only flights they could get rebooked on were for Saturday night.

Maybe next year :) Hey, I made it to roving nationals LOL!
