| I have a few questions. When I got my yorkie from the breeder, she gave me a paper that has a number I can register my little guy with. I don't see that it's an actual kennel club, though. He's a purebred Yorkie, we know that for a fact, but it says on the AKC website that I'm supposed to have a paper from them to register him with. Does anyone know anything about this? Second, is there a minimum weight requirement for them to be in a show? Mine weighs 2lbs 7oz, and he probably won't get much bigger. He came from a litter of small babies. Also, he's seven months old and he was changing color fast when he hit about five months, but now only his head has changed, but he hasn't changed any more. I'm sure this will disqualify him, right? I'm sorry, I know this sounds stupid, but this is my first time ever getting into this, so I'm curious, and I figured this was the best place to ask. Thanks!

| The paper should have the AKC emblem on the top left hand corner and should say Dog Registration Application across the top. There is no minimum weight requirement because the standard calls for no more than 7 pounds. A tiny dog may just have more trouble stacking up to the bigger boys. Males are usually okay on the smaller side but gals that are too tiny to be bred don't usually do well. As far as color, the only disqualification is that he has a white spot that is bigger than an inch in length. His head should clear by the time he is 2 and he should be blue and not black by maturity.
