The paper should have the AKC emblem on the top left hand corner and should say Dog Registration Application across the top.
There is no minimum weight requirement because the standard calls for no more than 7 pounds. A tiny dog may just have more trouble stacking up to the bigger boys. Males are usually okay on the smaller side but gals that are too tiny to be bred don't usually do well.
As far as color, the only disqualification is that he has a white spot that is bigger than an inch in length. His head should clear by the time he is 2 and he should be blue and not black by maturity.
