Denali's gold is more like a tan in my opinion. It's darker, not as bright and not as shaded. It makes a beautiful contrast to her very deep blue though.
Carly is the light one. Her gold around the muzzle is nice but doesn't extend to the rest of her face which is more of a platnium blond.

believe it or not there were three in her litter and they are all still alive. She is one of only a couple Gator kids alive today. Her brother and sister had alot to do with starting the famous NicNak line.

Of course I have heard of Rothby's Renee'Gade. He is so beautiful. My Yogi, the one pictured on my avatar, has Rothby's Renee'Gade on his 4th and 5th generation. Thank you so much for sharing his picture.

Thank you very much, he does look cottony in the photos, but normally he looks silkier. His coat seems to normally be somewhere between the two and gets silkier by the day. The shots were taken right after he got shaved down and he looked fuzzy for about 2 weeks, LOL.

First of all I want to thank you for starting this thread.
I would like to jump into this conversation for I am still learning on this subject.
Could you please be honest about the pictures I have posted of Achilles. Please tell me if he has the right color and texture. Do you think his coat is too light? I have included a picture of him at 6 weeks, 2 yrs and one at 2 1/2 he has just turned 3 this month.
Please again be Honest you wont hurt my feelings. Like I said I am learning and trying very hard to better my line.

Sue....honestly I think he is a beautiful dog. He appears to have nice shaded gold on his head. His coat appears silky, you can see the light reflecting from his back. He might be a little light but to me his is not too light. I know you must be proud of him. Have you shown him any?

No I have never shown him. I have had several people tell me I should. But... they were not anyone that would truly know if he was up to standard. I personally think he is gorgous. But as I have said I am still learning and was not positive. Thank you for starting this thread. I have heard that people in show can be cruel and I did not want to put myself or him out there. I still have a lot to learn about their gait and all the other things that go with showing.
I am so glad I found this site I have learned so much just by reading the diff threads.
I have added Lacey Bugs pictures here can you please give me an honest opionion? I think her head is light. But do you think as she gets older she will get darker? I have noticed over the last couple of months the color has been changing to a golder color.
The first picture is when she was 8 months old the other is 2 yrs.

Sue....I think she is beautiful too. She looks like she will have shaded gold too. The gold on her ears looks to be a darker gold which is a good sign. My Yogi had a lot of gray in his head at 8 months and he is over two now and his gold is getting richer looking. I think your girl has nice steel blue also. What are the bloodlines of your dogs? I am no expert on all this and I am trying to learn too. I think I have a good eye for conformation. The one thing about yorkies is that it takes so long for the coats to break and different lines develop at different rates. Those breeders that have bred and shown for many years and are familiar with the different lines can usually tell at an early age what kind of coat the dogs will have. I don't think show breeders are mean intentionally but they are honest and I appreciate their honesty. Sometimes the truth hurts. I know I have made my share of mistakes because I did not have a mentor and I was given wrong information in the beginning about coats, etc.

I love the 2 &1/2 yr old picture. He looks like he has a beautiful topline and the color seems just lovely at this point. Does he have nice movement? I would think he is ready for the ring. It's hard to tell in pictures I love nice color but the overall structure of the body is even more important to me. Remember, no dog is perfect but yours is so nice.

Thank you for all your opionions. I do not know a lot about Lacey Bugs bloodline. Achilles is a baby from my Little Miss which passed away 2 yrs ago Christmas. A bad accident. I bought her from a gal in Medford Or. She was my first girl I ever introduced to our family. I was not real concerned about any champions in her back ground at that time. At the time I did not really have any thoughts of breeding or showing her. She was just my sweet little girl.
I started to do more research on the yorkies to check into breeding Little Miss. I then bought a male. By the time he was 1-1 1/2 I figured he was not going to be up to the Yorkie standards. His coat is like a wirey coat. Miss was 5.5 lbs and our male was 6.5 so I was also concerned about the wt diff. Little Miss came into her third heat and guess what... he decided she smelled good and declaired her as his girlfriend. We had him neutered at that time. We had two beautiful pups both males. We decided to keep Achilles. Both boys look a lot alike and have the looks and coat like their mom.
Like I said I was new to breeding Yorkies. I do know neither of them have any champions as far back as 4 generations. So I feel I would not really have a chance to win in the ring.
I am wanting to find a good mentor in my area to help me learn how to enhance the line I have already started. My goal is to improve my line and get started in showing so when my husband retires in 6 yrs we can show our babies together.
So I am sorry to say I really dont have any information on the bloodlines on any of my babies. I am at the begining stages of learning and building my line still. I have been doing research on the yorkie breed and standards now for 3-4 yrs. Most of my research has been done on the internet and books. I know I still have soooo much more to learn and a long road ahead of me to achive my goal.
I know YT is a good place to be to help me establish my goals.

Sue....thanks for sharing those adorable pictures. It looks like you might have some nice foundation dogs. If I were you I would go to AKC.org and order a 5 generation pedigree for each of the dogs you intend to use in your breeding program. I think it cost about $12. These are call research pedigrees and are viewable online, you can save them to your computer and then print them out. They are not as easy to read if you are not familiar with online pedigrees but you can see any champions that might be back there. Even if the champions on on the 4th or 5 generation it will give you a little idea of what lines your dogs came from.

Hi I hope you did not take my comment in a bad way about the show breeders. I guess cruel was not the right word. I guess what I was trying to say it is hard to get to know them at the show. Thank you that is some good information. I will check into it tomorrow I have to go to my grandsons 16th birthday today. Boy I am getting old.

Sue....I did not take you comment in a bad way. I agree with it. When I first started going to shows I thought the breeders were very unfriendly. Once you start showing and realize all the stress that goes on prior to a show in preparing your dog for the ring then you will understand they just don't have time to talk before a show, especially if it is about an hour before show time. Also, some of the people you see with the yorkies are not breeders but professional handlers and they are even more busy. Are there any show breeders in your area that you can contact and perhaps just go visit?

What beautiful babies they are. I am so interested in hearing what everyone has to say as I am on the road to showing. I like seeing the pics when your doggies still had their silver in the head area and then when they are all gold. It gives me hope for Ceasar.
