Mary for majors isn't it just 2 different judges since you only need 2 majors? Of course it's going to be more than 3 judges since one can't obtain a championship with only 2 judges there isn't enough points with just 2 judges..or am I reading what you said wrong? I could be wrong LOL

here's how it's explained on the AKC website

The American Kennel Club requires a dog to obtain a total of 15 points with two major wins (a major win is worth three points or higher) to become a champion. The majors must be won under different judges and at least one other judge must award some of the remaining points - so you need to win under at least three different judges.

Ok I'm not picking on anyone LOL...just saying that's a no brainer LOL. It's kinda reduntant....you can't obtain 15 points with just 2 judges it would have to be 3 or more..... I guess what I'm trying to say is this....it takes 2 different judges for majors and if you have common sense you'd know it takes another one to get the rest of your points....I know I make things hard lol! I don't like wasting words when you don't need too LOL.....I guess I just confused everyone LOL LOL LOL! Ok I'll go crawl back into the woodwork for now LOL

Donna,

A person could get 2-5 point Majors from the same judge and 1-5 point Major from another and would still have to get a single point from a 3rd judge for the title.

Thanks Sonia and Mary I knew it took two different judges for majors and I just assumed that the different third judge was seen as inevitable Thanks for clarifing

For you and I and other exhibitors it's a no brainer.....But, for the newbie it may need to be clarified.

I know that when I as starting it was so confusing to me....what the whole progression of things at a dog show....
