And thank you all so much. I am waiting to hear from Trish still. The ring time was later for today's show. So it will be later before I hear back of how Gigi did today. T.

| ![]() Congratulations. Since I've never shown a dog I have a few questions. Can you show them yourself, or do you have to hire a handler to show them? How would you find a handler, and do they only handle one dog at a time, or do they have a few their showing at the same time. Last one - is it super duper expensive to have someone handle them, and (I guess another one) why would you have someone other then yourself show your dog? Thanks

Yes, you can show yourself and most of the time I do. We got the first point on Gi, before she left. I work fulltime and just do not have a lot of time. This also makes it hard to show on the Fridays. Then you have travel time and then when you get home - you have to unpack, etc... So there is your weekend to get the house clean, lawn mowed, and don't forget - you have to have someone watch the dogs that stay home. Where I live in Ga. it is a big state and most of the shows you have some travel to get to them. So having a handler for me is a good option. AKC has a list of professional handlers. I like to find them by meeting them at shows and getting recommendations. You have to find a handler that fits you best. I prefer one I trust, very nice and approchable, knows how to show yorkies (grooming), and mostly takes good care of your dog. Expensive - somewhat, but for my situation - it is worth it. Handlers prices range depending on their experience and how many dogs they take with them to show. Usually they take 2 - 1 male and 1 female. They usually travel with others. I hope I have answer your questions. T.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() To tell you the truth I didn't know she was your dog at the time. The pix I have are just horrible, you can't really see much. You're more than welcome to them though. Your girl is from Tsa La Gi, right? There were three entered from Tsa La Gi, in that class, so I don't who actually handled your girl. I'm so new to shows, my head was just swimming, just seeing all of the gorgeous yorkies. So, I wasn't focused on who handled which dog.
