One of the first yorkies I ever saw was white. It was a tiny female and she was from a litter of four normal colored. She was as pretty as a speckled pup and in great health. In fact, she was an adult when I saw her.

I have a very light golden right now that will probably look "white" when she is older.

so there is such a thing as a 'white' yorkie or silver i am getting two yorkies on monday and one of them is 'white' here's her pic what do you think? my=anna.jpg

I think that it looks like this dog was advertised as a "teacup." Am I right?

I am just asking because I have seen a lot of disreputable breeders advertising sad little puppies in teacups and saying that they are selling "teacup" dogs -- when there is no such type! Make sure that you get to see the breeder's home and that the sire and dam are in good health and that this is not a disreputable breeder.

Other than that -- looks like a cutie!

Oh go and see this little one, take pictures,as many as you can. tell them your hubby cannot go with you and you need to show him what she looks like.
then come back and post them on here and in the meantime tell the person that has her you need to check with hubby.

silver yorkies start off black and tan as babies but their adult hair grow in silver or look white. My yorkie skoshi is very light colored (look at the pic by my name) or sugar's mom's Ceeby(the only one i could think of right now lol) lot of peoples are but we didnt buy them that light. I know there is someone on here that has blonde yorkies and they are born like that but your pic doesnt look yorkie. most yorkies arent born with blonde ears.

I dont believe there are white yorkies. I have seen VERY light silver ones as adults that look white, but arent. That one in the picture in the T-Cup doesnt come even close to looking like a Yorkie pup. But, white may be the new designer color that YTCA will have to DQ.

Your puppy is cute! And yes, there are such things as white yorkies (born white) out of two traditional colored yorkies. Both parents carry the recessive gene for the parti color. The one reason that I question if this pup is a full parti yorkie is the fact that it's ears look tan and not black. Parti's are born black and white with tan highlights around the eyes/muzzle, but ears are black (like traditional colored yorkie pups). Of course your pup could be a golden parti ;-) But I see the breeder you got the pup from also has Maltese and apricot and parti poodles, so it's possible that two sires bred the dam? Either way, the mother also carried a parti gene, otherwise the pup would have been born traditional colored and not parti colored.

Because of the new DQ rule, judges are also DQing Blue and tans with lighter blue coats, as well as Black and tan and black and gold ... it's not just Parti colored that are DQ'd.

And those "designer" genes have been in our Yorkies for over 100 years.

I just realized there are two thread about "White Yorkies" ... Find out if the breeder has any other stud dogs that could have bred mom, if so, my guess is the litter may have 2 sires.

Looks like a Maltese!
some maltese have lemon coloring too on ears and the body.
The spots usually fade out with time

Looks like a maltese mixed with something else to me too. Look at pictures of maltese pictures and that puppy looks just like one.

Not all the judges are DQing for lighter blue and tan, only a few are doing this. And most of these judges are not as knowledgeable as the breeder judges, who I give more clout to when judging. Funny, when talking to alot of the old time terrier breeders,pure white, except for the Westie, is not present, nor is the parti color. So, maybe that parti color came from Papillons or the rat terrier.
