ok... this post realy upsets me... first of all, Peyton has been in 3 homes, not 4. we could not help that my friend died of cancer. ( that was the first home. she didn't have much time after she was diagnosed so, I told her I would take her, and that made her very happy. ) in my home she was treated like a queen and was happy. I wasn't planning on ever getting a yorkie , but she did ok with my 2 Chihuahuas. so, I was home number 2... I gave her to Gayle and Peyton is being treated like a queen at Gayles house too. My friend Joan WOULD NOT be turning over in her grave. I totally resent that comment Gayle, I can see that this site will not be helpful to us. lets not post here anymore please....

And , I think this was TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL OF YOU we are talking about my best friend who I lost. you didn't know her, you do not know what my home or Gayles home are like. I guess this just shows that some people that run rescues can be thoughtless

| Elaine: I didn't know your friend, don't know you and don't know Peyton; but, I stand by what I said. She is being handled IMHO like a toy that you play with for a while, then decide it isn't quite the right toy and she gets passed on to someone else. FIRSTLY, you found a home here on YT is what I am assuming...how did that work out? She is back listed on here! Back then, Yorkies, Inc was suggested; but you were determined to do it yourself. Oh, there are wonderful people on YT, but honestly this is a very public forum and neither of you has the experience that Yorkies Inc has in terms of evaluating pups and placing them in the right home. Screening can be tricky as you are now finding out. And, if it wasn't bad enough, you have NO idea what rescue does and pretty much insinuated that Yorkies, Inc let her down. And NOW when hit with the truth you get all defensive and trash "the site" that isn't going to help. You promised your friend you would take her and you changed your mind...so yeah, I will say it again.....*I* would turn over in my grave. That is my opinion and it is why I have made arrangements for a totally different alternative for my pups should I pass before them. As to your personal comments about me, not even going there. I was respectful and told you how I see this from Peyton's perspective .. she is skittish...do you think moving her every year, every few years to a new home (even if she is treated well) is right for her? Do tell me how she ends up with stability. I have seen plenty of Peyton's in my life and it takes years for them to heal...sometimes never totally. Lastly, I think it is wonderful that you seem to care and you are committed, but I honestly don't think either of you has the skill set to properly evaluate a new home for her. If you did, she probably would not be in the same boat yet again.... no???

The highlighted sentence is what confused me a bit in terms of number of homes. There was a person who couldn't keep her, a person who passed away, then you and then this latest one.

yes, my dear best friend knew she was going to die so she could not keep her. that is one person. I don't want to keep having to defend myself. I don't think I even ever should have. I think you are totally thoughtless bringing all this up. the first person who owned peyton was my friend Joan. she died. before she died, she gave her to me. so , I was number 2. now, she is with my friend Gayle and being treated really well. that's number 3 home. he whole life she has been well treated.

| I never said she wasn't treated well. Quite the opposite. My take on your reaction is that I touched a nerve and perhaps you need to think about why you have reacted so strongly. This is about what's good for Peyton....a permanent home and I believe at this point it would be best for people who do this all the time being the ones to find it.

I will pray that you will put your personal feelings aside long enough to see that I was trying to help Peyton. She is what matters. I know you realize that she is, but you are so "insulted" by something that was not an insult that you won't allow a rescue to do what they do best.

| Yorkie. I had a longer one that i was preparing but as i discuss previously with Elaine , when looking over rescue sites - I do not like that the dogs are fostered up and beyond 2 years and not into so called better homes. |

| I am sure you have time to get the last "word" in. You both, imo need to check yourselves out and perhaps realize that what I have said is true: placing these pups sometimes is not that simple... I am still kind of baffled about why she didn't work out in either of your homes. I know it was not traveling in a car...that was mentioned as a reason Elaine wanted a home closer. You say she needs to be an only pup....if that is true, then why was she with you when you had one? The whole story is very, very sad ...

| Yorkie This was the beginning of what i was preparing but Elaine was more for breed specific rescues . I feel breed specific rescues should be less outspoken in their personal opinions I have read both rescues sites in regards to re homing of yorkies in their care for up to 2 years or more for special needs dogs . Fosters give their general assessments based on reactions from the dogs they observe in their environment and with other dogs in their care often during stressful times Both Elaine and I could have passed any application , home visit , financial aspect , and have extensive vet references for any of your rescue process for either fosters or application to get a dog. Plus we could show off our extensive dogs that each have their own personality but are well behaved and happy in their own way .Some like to play and others just like to watch. Peyton is a natural Yorky terrier , who tries to dominate but in her life she hasn't felt the need because other dogs around her know she 's the prima Donna. When she came to the westie house, the westie laid down and let Peyton climb her back and hump her. ( only at the beginning , not regular ). The westie just thought she was finally just playing and let her . But alas Peyton doesn't want to play but just be petted by humans but each learned their place. However because of the weight difference of both dogs ,Peyton can be pushed aside easily when both want to be petted. Etc. |

| Yorkie. This site wasn't set up for long sad stories especially for a special needs re homing that just open up to strong opinions without facts to go on from so called knowledgeable sources - rescues. As i stated before , i gave my phone number a few times to Yorkie Inc and was very willing to give answers and follow up. However because I have seen some dogs in foster care for years with pleas etc. , that is NOT a better life than she has here. |
