| Yorkie. This is basically the Ad I am running elsewhere.and it was a copy of the one that i originally sent to the rescue . I added to the rescue my tel number . m looking to rehome my 8 yr old , blind yorkie girl , only to a better home that is less stressful than mine. Basically 1 without other dogs and someone that would love to and can give a quality, long time ,retirement life to an extremely affection 5 lb yorkie. She has been newly diagnosed with a cateract in 1 eye and the other eye has age related nearsighted vision so she can see a little but does bump into objects in the way ect. I will only rehome her to a better life and that would be one where there are no other dogs( or perhaps 1 other tiny ,calm one ) as she wants attention and deserves it. I feel there is someone out there that can give it to her better than me and they in turn will know they have helped a dog in need. She is a very healthy, well vetted (BY LOCAL VET ) Spayed female including recent dental , she still has about 30 teeth. Eats very well(loves little treats) , no other sickness , housebroken and leashed trained. She will come with all accessories. She Adores people who pet her or just to ly around with and shows her affection for it to anyone who gives it to her. She has never really interacted with dogs ( probably scared and shakes because of her size when they bump into her-always has ) and this is what I feel will stress her out more with blindness.. She loves to be bathed , brushed and fussed over. She can also be left at home quietly for a while. She is perfect for someone who can give a better life for a little lap dog , at home retiree or even a capable handicapped person who wants a companion. I will want to do a home visit and make sure it will be a good match. |

| Yorkies Inc Most rescues require that you surrender the dog in order for them to place the dog. If we are placing the dog under our rescue we are assuming full responsibility and liability for the dog and will get the dog any vetting that he or she needs, because if this we need the dog in one of our approved foster homes to asses the dog and get the dog any vetting it needs, such as cataract surgery if a candidate with one of the opthomologists we work with. We currently have a foster home available that has no other dogs in the house , this isn't typical most have other dogs in the house. You would be able to meet the foster mom and go to her house with Peyton, but then Yorkies Inc would take over full responsibility of Peyton. That is how a typical rescue works. If you want to pursue this as an option for Peyton please let us know as this foster home won't be available if another dog comes in. Thank you Kerri QUOTE=GayleO;4704382]Sorry , I couldn't find your reply email and i have been ckecking my spam folder regularly.I did send my tel. number for any questions even th I'm reluctant to just put it out in general. Anyway , I feel like ive been Peyton 's foster and already know her history and just looking for a more suitable home for her natural life. I do not see how transferring her to another foster home benefits her and she is a loving type of dog now and would not want to stress her needlessly. I reached out to breed specific rescues because I can understand a lot of people love dogs in general but really have a place in their hearts for certain types of dogs. I can understand rescues can't help all dogs but I do not feel surrendering Peyton to another foster home would be in her best interest , at this time.[/QUOTE]

You can say what you want about the negatives of rescue...it isn't going to change the fact that Peyton has lived a fractured life. Sure, she is cared for, but no one so far has stayed with her for the long haul. We get great applicants all of the time...some of them are turned down. Why? Because it has to be the right FIT ... it isn't about the people adopting, it is about the pups! Your disdain for rescues is only making life more fractured for Peyton. Yorkies, Inc has an only pup foster home with an opening NOW yet you don't want that. ????? That foster home will commit for the long haul.. Looking at rescues and passing judgement on them shows me just how much you know about the best way to place special needs pups. So what if a pup stays in a foster home for his/her whole life? Isn't that better than switching homes every couple of years? I think so.

| And, my last word on this: Putting ads up can be very dangerous for these pups. I know how Cathy and Kerri place their pups and KNOW that they would find the right home for Peyton or I would not have suggested it. I don't fully support many rescues. As for the comment about breed specific, there IS a place for them ESP for this breed as there are so many issues that rescuers must be aware of. IT ISN'T ABOUT THE GOOD HOME YOU FIND....IT IS FINDING THE RIGHT ONE ! You say you and Elaine would easily adopt....you might, but it might not be the one you WANT. Look now...you have one that you wanted that you now cannot keep...so clearly it is not finding a GOOD HOME...it was not the RIGHT HOME. OK..sick of this. I will pray you listen...for the sake of Peyton.

| Fosters are special Fosters are special kind of caring people. No if s about it. Some of my opinions are based on the 1 time I was thinking about fostering , got ok quickly because i gues i own a house and good credit rating but not even a home visit and then was given a anti social dog but did get the dog homed quickly and i decided fostering wasn't for me. |

I am sorry you had a bad experience. It shouldn't be that way; but each group has its own guidelines. We actually have a great membership coordinator who knows each foster home well and she places fosters in those homes as carefully as we place adoptions. Of course, sometimes we get a bad fit because when the pup is coming in, things can change...but by and large we don't have failures because she is so careful. We want our foster homes to enjoy what they are doing. Sadly, some get caught up in numbers....putting quantity over quality.

| So...just curious - what is going to happen to this poor pup??? Will you ladies consider rescue or are you going to continue to try to place Peyton on your own??? Also, will you take the baby to see an opthomologist? |
