No, just a side effect of an increase in a new pain med, which by the way, I am reducing. I'll deal with the pain, rather than losing nights of sleep. |
Quote:
Oh, I totally understand. Some meds do that. :( I hope you have a better night tonight. |

So sending prayers for Gabby that she gets a good report from the Neuro tomorrow.......and For Steve's Maxine that she gets good news at her vet appointment tomorrow.:xfingers: |
Matty is home and doing well. He is on pain medication and sleeping right now. Due to the possibility of ice on the roads, Gabby may not be going in the morning. I spoke with the neurologist today when I went to pick up Matty. She is great! She is going to keep a slot for Gabby later in the morning so that I can come whenever .. hopefully I can get there early, but if not, I can go later. Really want to get this over with for Gabby. Steve, I will be keeping Maxine and you and Marge in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all goes well tomorrow for her. |
Prayers that all goes well with Gabby tomorrow. |

Glad Matty is home and doing great and hope the roads stay clear so you can get Gabby to her appointment today. Steve, repeating what LJ is saying about Maxine. Hope all goes well today. |

I've been following the good updates on Gabby. I pray today will also give us good news for her!! I'll also be praying for Maxine, Steve and Marge today. Sending some kissens for sweet little Maxine as well. Oh, and some for Carlo too!! |
Ugh...been a very long day. Anyway....Gabby's myelogram and CT scan were done and she has a lot of chronic stuff .. several bulging cervical discs C3-7 but those are not causing problems for Gabby. At T 11-12 there was no evidence of neoplasia or trauma so they believe what is going on there is congenital. She has more than likely worsened with age due to the left facet thickening. There is significant atrophy of the spinal cord. The suggested plan for Gabby is surgery at that level to remove that facet (bone). The goal is to prevent further deterioration and preserve the function that she has now. I am a bit upset about the fact that she cannot walk now. :( I called to tell them and the neurologist assured me that this is temporary and often happens. I surely hope so. Gabby was put on prednisone for a few days. She said this is due to the anesthesia and the myelogram and should start to improve by tomorrow. Please keep sweet Gabby in your thoughts and prayers. (I know you all will, but I have to ask) She is such a darling...this is so stressful. |
It's ok you can ask...Sending the "biggest" prayers that I can manage in hopes that the little Gabby improves significantly over night. Please lots of kisses for Gabby from me tonight. Try not to worry to much, I think she will be better tomorrow. Get some rest, you put in a long one today. |
You being upset is not good for you, for Gabby, or the other dogs, but I sure do know what you mean. Hopefully she will be walking soon. Are you going to have the surgery done? I know the good people here will help out with donations and using Amazon.com link if they can. Great people here and you are doing all you can. Try to relax, and get some rest. |

But she is in the best possible hands-yours. You can rest assured, we will continue to keep Gabby, and you, in our prayers. Please, please, try hard not to worry. Rest, with Gabby & Matty, and put everything in God's hands. Hugs, Sheila |
I just reread what I had written and it probably makes no sense. What she has is spinal canal stenosis with severe spinal cord atrophy. They are going to remove that bone to prevent it from giving the spinal cord the final blow. It definitely cannot take any more. She would be paralized with anything more. Thanks all of you! Your posts make me feel so good. :) I took Gabby out a little while ago and she actually stood up!! She did not try to walk, but perhaps tomorrow! Made me feel a little better. When she started dragging herself around today I was so upset. |
We will pray that they remove the bone and she can have a wonderful quality of life, which she so deserves. Well, it is very understandable that you would be upset, seeing Gabby drag herself around, but oh, it is wonderful that she stood up! It's amazing how much your tender loving care, gives these kids a will to live. |
Hoping that you come on this morning to tell us she is walking today... |

Give Gabby some soft kisses for me. I just know she'll be up and walking again today. |
