SO good to hear from you and Gabby. I hope she does start to stand more and walk one day. I'm sure it is trial and error. A lot of things are that way. Just caring for a sick yorkie is trial and error!

She had a terrible weekend last week with her bowels again. I had her evaluated again by the vet...lab results all normal. We are thinking it is stress colitis. It also could be from her not eliminating fully since I do have to express her bowels; but there is no bacterial overgrowth so not sure it is that. She is on probiotics just in case. For now I have stopped physical therapy. The week before it happened she was all over the house and went to PT three times. I am thinking it may have been too much. She has not tried to walk since. It's great to see you back, Linda. I feel bad Gabby had such a rough time with her bowels, but it's good that her Labs are normal. I know it is discouraging to stop PT for a short time, but once you start again, Gabby will catch up.

So, please don't feel discouraged. Sometimes it is is just like a rollercoaster.

In the end, she'll be flying!

I don't know that she will ever be flying, but she is doing ok as she is. I take her from room to room to hang with all of us and she goes out with us in the back yard.

I have a feeling that a slower pace might work better for her.

It is just beautiful the way you are with Gabby and all of your pups. You have given Gabby the medical care and strength to get better. You accept her for who she is, and treat her with such compassion and love. Gabby looks so great and happy with you. Welcome back!

Thanks for the update on Gabby, LJ. Sorry things have been tough in the bowel area. Poor girl. Saying prayers for improvement.

Linda, always ask God for miracles. Gabby is a miracle in herself, that she has gained so much ground.

Even a slower pace is a miracle for this little girl.

I think taking her from room to room and out in the yard to hang out with you is some of the best therapy you can give her.

You give her a reason to live.

Gabby went to the opthamologist today and got a good report! The pressure in the eye has indeed dropped since that procedure!!! So, that means, no enucliation. I am SO relieved! Poor baby shook when they were examining her...I guess she thought she was staying there again. As soon as she was back in my arms, she was fine!

She is doing well overall. No more bowel issues....I have been logging everything for the past 3 weeks...so far so good! I think that perhaps it was the PT. It may have been just a bit too much for her. Going to watch and log a bit longer.

One thing I have noticed that is different. She used to sleep on her tummy....now she often sleeps on one side or the other. I honestly think she is more relaxed these days. I don't know what it is....it is just the way it stood out to me. She would sleep on her back and jump up to check on things....now she just lies there...might open her eyes, but does not jump up. She is a love.

I don't blame her for shaking, she's had enough of that place.

It does sound like the PT was too much for her.

I'm so glad to read that she is feeling more relaxed.

I know why she's more relaxed...the love & care you have given her.
