Just found this thread. I made a donation to Gabby's care on YHR, which I really knew nothing about today. What an awesome organization! Going shopping in the YHR Boutique next! |

Good news this morning! I had Gabby in my lap this morning while getting all of her meds in line to give to her. I felt something scratching my leg and when I looked down, she was trying to lift that leg up on to my lap as it had slipped off! First sign I have seen of any movement in her hind legs. :) She also had a BM and it was not diarrhea! I have mastered expressing her bladder; so things are going pretty well. :) |
That little sweetie! She's trying to get better and she might surprise us all with a quick recovery. Who knows? Maybe all of the YT prayers and your extra special care and love will have her bouncing back in no time. Keeping Gabby in my prayers. |

I love watching her progress. Sheila |
Hooray for small miracles. But come on, this little darling has a private duty nurse 24/7 :) |
Keeping our toes and paws crossed for Gabby's speedy recovery! Thanks for the updates! |
Glad for small steps toward recovery. My prayers are with you! |

Gabby Update This morning when I took Gabby outside to express her bladder, it was empty. When I stood up I noticed my shirt was damp. Little darling had piddled on me when I was carrying her outside. :) I took her to the crate in my office where she spends her days and gave her her breakfast. When I went back to pick up her bowl and get her for her morning meds I found little streaks of poop and bright red blood. I picked her up and she was trying to pass more stool. I took her in the bathroom to help her finish and to wash her little tush and it was so red and irritated. :( I called my vet and took her in worrying that she might have an anal gland problem...or even a bit of a tear somewhere. On exam, my vet found Gabby to have quite a bit of tone in her rectum....just wonderful news!! She is just irritated and is to have animax applied 3 times/day. Today was the first time she has passed urine on her own...even though it was not continent....and now she has tone in her rectum. Sooooo...she is getting feelings and use back!!! :) I am SO excited! First time I have ever wanted a pup to pee and poop all over me. :p She also had an appointment with the opthamologist....her eye has a bit more pressure in it. He still feels that it will "destruct" on its own. He added a new eye drop to try and get the pressure down. She now does not go back again for three weeks. |
