Since you're familiar with rescue I don't understand how you could have mistaken this thread for solicitation.

You continue to amaze me with your efforts! As a member of YHR I have helped plenty of other rescues both with my time, efforts and even donations when needed. For instance when OKYR has that poor little girl just recently with the tumor in her mouth I think just about everyone donated to that as well~she needed medical attention and as a group we wanted to see it happen. I also donated to YTNR and YorkiesInc to help in the past. Then there was the rescue that was doing a transport and a dog pulled out of its collar and bolted. I looked for her for 4 days, put up flyers, make phone calls to help by myself since the rescue was from Southern IL . When word got around it was amazing how everyone stepped up to help look for her. You see it didn't matter that she was not from "my rescue" she didn't know the difference. To me what matters is it to make a difference even if it is in a small way to help and when all the generous members step up for all the rescues that are there to help it what matters. As I am sure you know from your experiences with rescue, there are different levels of rehoming and it is dependent upon foster homes, number of dog taken in, medical issues, applications received......but of course you would know this with your current involvement with your rescue work ;)

I was just wondering if the Yorkie rescue that you donate to is also a member here? If they are placing 300 dogs in a year I bet they have a great number of foster homes and we get emails every day looking for help. That is amazing and I for one would love to be hooked up with a contact. Can I use you?

Out of the 33 replies on this thread, there sure are a lot that contain incredibly snide comments. What is the real goal in making comments like that?

If people don't like this thread, then move on and focus on something else.

All I tried to do is to help that little sick pup. Yes, there were a few snide remarks, all made from the same individual that has nothing better to do than to follow me around. Now where did I solicite money for myself, my dog, or my benefit. It is really sad where one person with a grudge, real or imagined will go out of their way to sabatage a thread, and to deprive a poor pup of some additional help. If my thought is wrong, then you can close this thread down, and kick me off of YT. If that is how it is, it is not a community that needs my type evidently.

Just let it go, Steve and focus on the kindness of YT. There are SO many wonderful people on YT! :) You are definitely one of them! :)
This thread is about a wonderful man who is trying to help a sweet little pupster. Let's just let it stay that way as Wylie's Mom suggested!

I was going to order a blanket and dress from the boutique - will that help? If so, I'm wondering if Lucy would be a small or extra small; couldn't find the dress size chart.

She is almost 4 lbs; some of the extra small stuff I have purchased at stores . . I notice that the dress ruffle ends at the middle of her back.

So I'm thinking I should try a small??

Well, it only shows the belly band and harness sizes. I found that one. I guess the harness size would be the same as the dress size.

Yes it will help! Lots of people purchase from the YHR Boutique for that very reason! All of the items in the YHR Boutique (except for the cookbooks, but they have long been paid for) have been donated; so 100% of all purchases go towards the veterinary care of the Haven pups!

Yes, the dresses are the same as the harnesses, but length is not on the size chart. PMing you now. :)

And that's why so many of us around here love you, Steve. Because you DO help!! You do care for these little ones and you're willing to step up and set an example. There are many other YT'rs like you, people with generous hearts who want to help in any way they can. IMO, YT wouldn't be the wonderful place it is without people like you!! Please do not go anywhere. We would miss you, Carlo, and Maxine too much! I know that you have pointed out other dogs in need as well. The point is to help the dogs. I appreciate you and your wife's efforts on behalf of all the dogs. I went to the YHR web site to donate and I saw the donor listings. So, Ladyjane helped me figure out the size and Lucy will soon be sporting the Gingham and ladybug dress (sooo cute) AND she will have a cupcake blanket of her very own! She's going to love that.

She's going to look very cute and have a darling blanket to keep her warm, too.:p
