Sometimes it takes a lot of time to find just the right home! Fiona is still with me! Until the home is right, here is where she stays! There are a lot of people who want yorkies, but sometimes they are not appropriate for a pup for different reasons. Look at it this way: Mindy actually does have a home right now....she is with someone who loves here who would like something a bit better for her, but I am quite sure Mindy is fine and happy where she is! Same goes for Fiona...make sense?

bark busters never contacted me back, nor did the 2 bigger yorkie rescues..I was hoping they had some advice or knew of a good trainer.. oh well.. Mindy is doing fine though. Last night she decided to sleep with my husband Don while I was up working on a pedigree that is a mess.. You can tell she really hates him aye? LOL She wasn't as irritated with the other dogs yesterday so that was nice. ![]()

| ![]() I spoke with the local trainer from bark busters yesterday. She was very helpful and felt she could help Mindy, was sure of it ![]() A 1 time visit is 250.00 for a few hours, I forgot how many..I wanna say 3. Or their lifetime program for 500.00 ![]() bark busters charges the 400.00 plus 200 for 2nd dog and then 100. for each dog after that. ![]() Anyhow, I am going to call this other place today and see what they have to offer.. What I like about bark busters is that if you get the lifetime one they will come back out any time and even the dog is adopted they would work with the new owner to transition them since the training follows the dog no matter who was to own the dog. By the way, she is doing better the last couple of days ![]() |

![]() As much as these people are charging I am not surprised to see so many behavioral/trainers popping up and most do not have any real training. Just look at mr Caesar..that guy should not be allowed to be "training" dogs.. ok thats another thread.. ![]()

| ![]() Mindy I was asked to come an comment on this as aggrssion is my comfort zone of understanding so here I am. I am extremly busy right now so bar with me if I take time getting back to you. First I'd shelf the idea she is mad, second bark buster will do more damage. third not sure where you are but look into a vet with behaviour and get her on drugs to settle her down. Thrid depending on the aggression if you place her in a rescue they will put her down if it is human aggression at all as she will be thought of as not placable. You need a vet to draw blood and test thyroid and make sure there is nothing going on medically. Do you have a clue of her family history at all. You need a proper assesment on her and bark busters is breaking the law if they do an assemant as it can only be vets that asign aggression tags. once asigned they can treat but no vet will or should be recomending any trainer that does not souly work from gentle and postive as they can be fined by there assoication. You put her in a rescue they will put her down if it is human based aggression at all. not sure who old this girl is or what is going on and I need way more info. vidoe would be good. Yes I pull no punches but there is a wee one in trouble and I can see this getting worse. JL

If you have the time just go through and read my posts about Mindy, everything about her is in this thread. We were told she was 2, but a vet said she was more like 4 or 5 because of her teeth and the fact she got pyometra. This was not MY vet so I don't trust the age guessing. I do trust my regular vet and he will know with good certainty of her true age. I personally believe she is more like 3. There is nothing really to video tape, except her growling when eating (at other dogs only) and her barking. She has not bit anyone (men) coming into my home since about a month after we got her, so around end of January (she never drew blood). We did have a fight break out day before yesterday between her and my male. It was over a chew, but it wasn't a true "fight" and was easily broke up with me telling them "enough"! The recent stuff that happened while in her new home, I never saw it, only heard about it. And I think if it did actually happen as she told me then I believe it was because she was thrown into a situation that was overwhelming to her (her fear of men). I have taken her to the vet on a leash and had no problems with her going after the men there and she had several walk right past her.. However she might have been distracted by the dogs, which she was interested in meeting. We don't have any parks near us, there is a lake/park about 10 miles away, I have thought of taking her there just to see how she reacts, but I am afraid of doing more damage. I could keep her from actually biting someone, not worried about that as much as I am about freaking her out. And I am NOT going to place her in any rescues or shelters. She is staying right here. I will not re-home her again!
