| Wow. Its hard for me to believe that they would put down 40+ yorkies just like that... unless they are all in horrible shape. Is there a rescue group that can be contacted near this place? I could keep a couple until proper homes were found but DH would kill me with 40!

| Thank you Tae1107 for the update. I have contacted the individual in the posting but I have yet to hear anything from Marcie. If someone is approved for adoption I may be able to help with transport, just send me a DM. |

I have no idea which rescue has already reserved 17 of them...if I find out I will let you know... They are not open today...nor tomorrow :-( I am hoping they read emails/check phone messages on their day off as it is about a 12hr drive for me to get there.... or maybe other rescues closer will step up and take them.....

| I pray these Yorkies can be rescued. Gaston County is a particularly horrible shelter as they still use gas chambers to euthanize instead of the more modern humane injection. |

| I've got to think that it would have been more humane to have left them in whatever situation they were in. They must have an incredible short period of time that they hold animals before euthanizing them. The question is why? Our county has a relatively small shelter and the county animal control holds them for a week to see if anyone claims them and then they go to the County Animal Shelter where they are held for as long as they can. Smaller animals usually are adopted quickly....the larger ones take more time. Last edited by lreed; 07-19-2009 at 12:25 AM. |

| Yorkies Inc is trying to still get some of the dogs...the problem that we are having is that we have a quarantine law here in MA...so any dog from a shelter/pound that comes into MA from another state and stays needs to be quarantined.... and we do not have our own facilty to do this Rescues are working on transports...but none (as of yet) are really willing to work with any rescues in MA because of the strict laws here... We are going to try to be as creative as we can...my boyfriend lives in RI so we are going to see what we can do with that....and looking in to see where we can maybe quarantine some of them...
