I've got to think that it would have been more humane to have left them in whatever situation they were in. They must have an incredible short period of time that they hold animals before euthanizing them. The question is why? Our county has a relatively small shelter and the county animal control holds them for a week to see if anyone claims them and then they go to the County Animal Shelter where they are held for as long as they can. Smaller animals usually are adopted quickly....the larger ones take more time.
