I know that many other people are trying to track them. Hopefully they will see the links above and do this. Someome emailed me about the thread to begin with...they had seen the link when they Googled to find information about where the yorkies ended up.

I was told the yorkies with Loving Pet have been adopted out already.

How many were there? Were they totally vetted, including dentals? I am shocked that they could adopt out so many with so many special needs in such a short period of time; and without public support?
I still feel sick to my stomach that so many yorkies from bad conditions seemingly disappeared...dropped completely off the radar. I have never seen that in my years of yorkie rescue.

I smell something fishy.

Update: Loving Pet still has a few yorkies left, that need to be spayed/neutered. The yorkies were in bad conditions so some had complications after getting spayed/neutered and are recovering. They are using a specialist to continue with the spaying/neutering to hopefully prevent any further complications. They also have about 4-5 pom/yorkie mixes that are 2 weeks old, they need homes and a male pom (sorry :confused: I forgot the age, I do know that he is an adult) that is ready to go. If anyone is interested in adopting, PM for the phone number.

Oh yeah 1 female that has heart problems will be staying with the rescue, because she can't be spayed. She has an appt. next week for a battery of tests with a specialist.

This is one of the weirdest stories I have ever heard. And...what IF people want to know where they are? They don't have a website? How do they pay for these bills??
Isn't this the same rescue that I posted about before that said they have no money?
I am sorry to ask so many questions, but none of this is making a bit of sense to me.
I have worried about these yorkies since day one when everyone was so hush hush secretive about them. There were reputable yorkie rescues that can afford them who would see to it that every need was met, yet they were not contacted? Too strange for my comfort. We do not NEED any more pups (sadly we dont even have room for that many...which frightens me about other groups who take them in droves...)...we don't do it for the money...we spend a small fortune making them well again and I would hope others who want to save them would do the same. A simple spay/neuter and shots is not enough for the vast majority of yorkies popping up these days. They have a ton of different issues that need to be addressed.
I have never seen rescues pull pups and not ask for donations, not post them on a website and not update people about their conditions.
And you are their spokesperson? I have to tell you that if I were you and they were giving such conflicting reports, I would run from them. You said they said they were adopted..now this?

I dont get it. First you said they have all been adopted, now we have a few. Whats going on and can we have a contact name or the website? People on here would love to help them but we have so many unanswered questions.

Let me say this: Don't shoot the messenger. I can only post what I have been told. The 1st post saying they were adopted was what I was told by person A (the "middleman"). The second post I was given this information by the actual rescue, I spoke with someone today. Even my emails failed to get answered, I was only able to get in contact with them through person A.

Your posts led me to believe that you were "in the know". So...what you are posting is not what you know?

I only care about those poor yorkies. I fear they ended up in the wrong place and anyone with a clue should feel the same way that I do. There is something wrong with this picture.
Not ONE yorkie from that entire bust has been shown to me to be on a website for rescue.
They were all apparently used for breeding and handed over to unknown persons INTACT and my fear is that this has continued. They could very easily have ended up in a mill. This is a story that breaks my heart.
I find it very hard to believe something good happened. You and another person immediately seemed to know everything. Now, when everyone is adding two plus two and coming up with three, no one can account for them.
The ones that went to Florida also dropped off the radar. All we saw was a site begging for money....but no rescue was actually named. I do not donate to radio station websites that dont tell the name of the rescue or show the dogs.
I honestly am so disgusted ... I am simply going to find a way to contact the media in NC and see if maybe some reporter will follow up on these poor babies. Someone needs to account for them!

Ladyjane why don't you just call the rescue to put your mind at ease or to validate your suspicions. The phone number has been posted.

Are you saying that I will hear something different than what you have reported to us?
If you spoke with them and got the information you have posted, I have heard enough to know I am not comfortable with what they have done.
I may call them....but....
I am going to focus my attention on NC shelters and their protocol to hopefully help pups in the future from being handed out like that.
There is no way on earth I will ever believe all 40 of those pups are safe and sound today.

This is my last post on this thread because I am over and above the pointless banter. First and foremost I NEVER claimed to be a spokesperson for this rescue. What I posted was no different from any other person posting in the Rescues and New Homes Needed area. I posted what I was BEING TOLD, so that anyone reading could draw their own conclusions and contact the rescue to further inquire about the puppies pulled. Period. The end.

I am just having a difficult time understanding how, if you got the answers that you gave us, you are not as concerned as some of us are.
Seems to me that you wanted us to believe all was well with all of the conflicting information you said was given to you.
Maybe you don't see what we see? I don't know. But not posting again is certainly your option.
I am not going to rest until I know those yorkies are in good hands. I owe that to them....they do not have voices.

I called the reporter who did this story and talked to another reporter who says she thinks they were all rescued by various groups. She will ask the reporter (Cory Friedman) to call me back.

I've been reading and following this thread and I agree- it's just too odd that these yorkies seemingly vanished. I have been searching for information online about this rescue (as I'm sure so many of you have already done) and it's just odd that there is so little information out there... And it's odd that when I look on petfinder- none of these yorkies were ever listed and I don't even see that they give a phone number:

I spoke with the reporter who wrote the story for the newspaper. He's going to make some followup calls and get back to me. (I encouraged him to write a followup story--he said it had been front page news.) This is what he told me today:

- He was told that all the animals went to rescue groups. He's going to followup with the Shelter and try to get more info. However, he said the info is not as "public" as when an animal is adopted by an individual.
- His understanding was that Loving Pets is a legitimate rescue group.
- He also heard that Loving Pets got 17? dogs, and he emailed them with no success the day the story broke. I gave him the phone numbers we had and he will followup on that.
- His understanding was that the dogs were not purebreeds--they were Yorkie mixes, so he did not think a puppy mill would want them for breeding.
- His understanding is that the shelter's policy is that if a dog has a skin condition (probably referring to mange) or other serious condition they only allow a rescue group to adopt the dog so the dog can be rehabilitized.

He was very nice and sounded genuinely concerned about the animals.

I'll post when I hear more.

If a rescue is legit as he says, I have to wonder why they do not answer emails.
I have sent different emails to them (from different email accounts) and never gotten a reply.
Did he mention whether the shelter has any requirements of the rescues and if they follow up on whether or not the pups are altered?
YTNR took six of them. The person I spoke with did not tell me that they were mixes!
Oh...and last but not least...is he aware that not all pups who are sold from mills are actually purebreds? I have seen quite a few that make me wonder what they really are.

Let me reword that:
I wonder if he is aware that not all are purebreds. I am sure you don't know what he is aware of.

I'll ask about the Shelter's s/n policy and requirements.

I also thought about morkies, chorkies, yorkie-poos, (what would a corgi-yorkie be?)
