| I understand what you are saying and I think that rescues are wonderful...My whole objection is that we adopted him and after finding out that he was over 7 years old, we took him back and let them keep the money. We did not blame them because things do get overlooked. And, he may have had surgery to correct the condition, but, that does not change the fact that he is over 7 years old and they have him as a 2-3 year old. They had changed the listing when we gave him back(with heavy hearts I must add) and it stated his age and condition that he has. When I go on there today they have him listed as 2-3 years old...That is wrong Quote:

| One more thing, he was surrendered by a breeder he was not rescued from a puppy mill or anything like that....It just upsets me because chances are someone will adopt him thinking that they are getting a 2-3 year old and learn that he is over 7 years old

Well that is wrong and I didn't know they kept your money. I do not blame you for being upset under the circumstances that you are now saying. It does sound like they are being dishonest to both you and on Petfinder.com I am sorry that you had to go through this and I agree with you now that your entire story has come out that you were treated wrong and I does now seem like they are being deceptive. Not all rescue are the same and when things like this happen it give all rescues a bad name.

If you adopt a pup from a reputable rescue you should know everything about him/her. If he/she gets along with other pups and certainly you should know the correct age and any obvious health issues. Has Cookie been around other pups? Does she get along with them? If so, any pup you adopt that gets along with other pups will most likely do well with your Cookie. Now...as to this other rescue you recently dealt with. I suggest you sit down and write a nice email to them. Maybe they just have not gotten around to updating Duncan's profile. Sometimes rescues do fall behind on updates. They may now be telling people who apply what the correct age is (at least I hope so), but just have not updated the site. Maybe if you write to them they will remember to update it. If they don't update it then...well I don't know what to say. Besides checking on Petfinder, you might also want to check Petharbor each day. Good luck in your search for a friend for Cookie!
