Hello everyone, Can people from yours and Amandas general areas create a Yorkie train?? Maybe each even doing just an hour or two?? I would be very willing but I am in Chattanooga and way to far away to help. Good Luck to all envolved, MOSTLY to EMMA....... poor baby. Yes, they do look like DIFFERENT dogs in the pics. So sorry all of this has happened to your family. Keep the Faith. God Bless... Sharon~~ PIXI & SPIKE siblings at 4months. what a handful and I LOVE IT!!! ttfn |
Please Gina, let Amanda have her. Five hours is nothing to drive to make sure the dog has a good home. I don't see how you can with a clear concinence (I know it's spelled wrong. LOL) turn her down. I have driven far longer than that for my dogs. If for some reason you are unable then at least meet her halfway. How can you turn this offer down? Isn't it what you have wanted? Good luck to you and little Emma.:) |
Hubby said we could meet somewhere along the way... |
Amanda, you are such an amazing person. I truly admire you. Teiya, this is your chance. Don't let this opportunity pass you by :) I'm sure that a Yorkie train could be made to transport Emma. 5 hrs isn't *that* far! |
Such a wonderful loving gesture Amanda..this sounds like the perfect thing for Emma!:thumbup::thumbup: |
Amanda!!!! I have gas money!!!! |
Ok, I talked to my friend who runs a rescue here in my area. She will allow me to post Emma on her site, and cross-post her on another rescue site in the area as well as on their Petfinder listings. This is amazing and just shows the true compassion that is in dog rescue. Gina and I will be handling the adoption exclusively, should Gina take me up on the offer. Please let me know, Gina. Hubby said we could meet you whenever you wanted. |

Teiya, I hope you take Amanda up on this offer. Sometimes we make mistakes in life and make poor choices, but this can become a win/win situation for you if you are willing to take a monetary loss. I think there's a good chance of finding the right home for this dog, and right now that should be your number one priority. What is the lowest price you are willing to accept for this dog? It sounds like money may be the reason why you're hesitant about placing the dog with Amanda. I know it's always hard to lose money, but I think you have gained some valuable information on what qualities to look for in a breeder. I would hate for you to sell her to someone who will just use her for breeding, and unless she's spayed, that's very likely. So, how much do you want for this dog? |
People please! I know emotions are running high here regarding this situation but damn... I've been on an emotional roller coaster over this for a week now. Just please stop. Put yourselves in MY shoes here. I'm SO sick of being made out to be the bad guy. I've sat here and been called so many things these last 2 days, looks in the eyes of suspicion of my own intentions and basically interrogated via PM. I'm not going to deal with this. I started this thread in good faith asking questions and help to advertise the dog PROPERLY, rehoming fees and if anyone had a contract. Amanda, I'll talk to my hubby when he gets home and see what we can work out and what he thinks. He's a part of this too and it was his money as well. We've lost so much and it's not that I don't trust you, but sending the dog to another state to someone we don't know is asking me to extend more of a risk. The last person I placed trust in on YT lied to me, stole my money and slandered me in public. Try to see where I'm coming from. Right now, I know I'm booked solid with Avian rescue this weekend and Tuesday. I have several parrot adoptions pending and have to get the home evaluations done and 3 more coming into rescue that I need to pick up between saturday and sunday and place in foster care. In the event I can get my husband to agree to removing Emma from our custody, could we maybe do a mid week transport? |

I understand where you are coming from and do not envy your situation. I am very sorry about all of it. I understand you do not know me any better than you knew Jasmanea, and for all you know I could be just as crazy. Anyway, you and your husband need to do what's right for you and your family. I know you said that you wanted her out of your home because it's not right for Teiya or Emma. I was just trying to give you another option. Everyone, I appreciate all your support and your kind comments mean so much to me. Everything happens for a reason, and the main thing is that Emma has not been sold to a breeder to pump out puppies. Let's let Gina and her family digest all of this and come up with the best possible solution for everyone involved. And yes, I would be willing to meet you anytime, whether it be this weekend or next week. Take a break, go out to dinner and clear your head. I know that's what we're doing tonight! Blackberry margarita here I come!! |
Amanda, Let's do that. You drink a blackberry margarita for me and I'll consume mass quantities of chocolate martini's for you! Dinner sounds like a good idea! I haven't eaten or slept much in the last few days. In any event, we'll work on this together to find the best possible solution. I'm going to need someone to keep me sane! |
Just sending GOOD thoughts that Emma finds herself in a safe, loving, and trustworthy forever home very soon!!!! She deserves that!!! |

We need to try to answer some of the OP's questions! I don't have a contract yet, but will look around because I am definately going to use a contract when I sell my sweet puppies (if I ever part with any of them!). As for a rehoming fee -- I don't think realistically most people are going to pay over $500 and $400 is probably more the going rate for an older rehome that has "issues." But, I have to tell you, if it was me and the dog was a right fit for me and my family, I would pay more. So, Gina, if you absolutely need to get more of your money back, you could try for $600 and see what happens. These are just suggestions. I will be back when I find some contracts. |

HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!! I said this exact thing 2 days ago and also this morning and everyone was so hell bent on fighting that it was ingored twice! There must be a rescue in UT that would be willing to help. Has anyone looked to see? |
Here is one you could modify. It even has a Mediation clause. Some items could be left out if they don't apply. http://www.kerryblues.info/FOUNDATIO...BillofSale.pdf Much simpler contract but maybe not enough: contract to adopt yorkie - yorkshire terrier adoption I am not really finding one that is perfect "as is." You will probably have to take one and modify it. I hope one of the breeders will offer a sample of their contracts. I did not like many of the ones I found on a google search. Some of the breeders sounded like they were washing their hands of any responsibility other than genetic diseases found within a few days. I don't like that kind of abdication of responsibility but a seller does have to have some protections as well as the buyer. Some contracts didn't offer any protection for the seller at all. There has to be a happy medium where both are offered some assurance of fairness. |
Good luck with everything Teiya! It got pretty crazy there for a while, but it is very good of you to do so much work for Emma. I would be very upset if I was out ~$2K as well. That is a lot of money. It's good to see things moving forward. I hope that Emma will get a good home and you will get your money back. |

I think I read that you had also asked for help with an ad. How is this for an example to get the ball rolling? I am sure you can get more ideas too. Already house-trained! One year old CKC registered Yorkshire Terrier. Rich colors, sweet face! This little beauty needs a good home where she can be the center of attention. I hate to part with her, but she does not get along with other female dogs or small children, both of which I have. She is otherwise loving and well-behaved. Going to a home where she can be the "only child" is a must. I am willing to sacrifice much of my original investment to find the right family that Emma deserves. Spayed, vet checked and current on vaccinations. Rehoming fee: $600 (or whatever you decide) Maybe you could personalize it with something positive you have noted about her personality. The more I think about it the more I think you can advertise her in a positive light. For an older couple looking for an "only child," Emma might be just the ticket! She spruced up pretty nice and maybe with her ears shaved on the top half, they might start perking up. She does have some nice rich coloring. The appearance is not all important but that is what draws our attention in the first place. After that if they get to spend time with her and she has typical yorkie loving traits, she will sell herself. Good luck! Now I will leave you alone. ;) I just thought I needed to at least try to provide some input to your requests. |
Debra! I love you! That's a GREAT ad. I knew with all my emotions running rampant that I wasn't going to be able to write a good ad for Emma. Emma's postive aspects do need to be reflected. She does have quite a few and seriously speaking, would make a GREAT pet for an older couple. I'm using my position as Avian Rescue Director inappropriately and trying to get the humane society here to move her up the list to get her spayed. Wish me luck with that. The only thing I don't like is that they don't do any pre-op bloodwork but she does look healthy, so in her case, it might not be as critical to do it as it was for Teiya. |
Wow, we came a long way. All I have to say is - what an incredibly compassionate person Amandawash is for offering to spay and foster Emma. Also FlDebra is such a sweetie and thoughtful person to draft the wording for the ad. I hope everything works out for Emma and that she finds her forever home soon. |

I would do anything for this little girl including fostering.I have been sharing this story to my Mom who has a Chihuahua but no kids and my Dad.They have also fallen in love with her.Anyway if I could I would take her but it has been made clear that she can't be rehomed to someone with other dogs and children which I have.My Mom would take her but again she has one dog.Plus we live in Illinois with no way of traveling since I have kids who go to school.I also have my dogs to care for and going on a long trip just wouldn't be possible.I know the story of her and have lots of refernces on all the recues I have. All my pets minus Jasper were loss causes.I was given them because the Shelter manager was impressed with the know how on caring for there special needs. If I would to Foster Emma and not get to kep her I would pay for all Vet bills, getting her fixed and putting her in Adult Puppy class at Northgate where I have Jasper going to and my Tinkerbell will be going to this May.Saying that I also have some money I have been scraping up to help her.To rehome her or getting her fixed whatever the money needs to be used for that is what it is for.I put it back and it is waiting to be used for her plight.Keep me posted and good luck in finding her a home.If you want me to Foster we would have to get a train thing set up for her to come my way. |

Sorry, but Emma will not be rehomed out of the area. Gina really wants to have her potential adopter meet and interact with Emma before an adoption. |
Disappointing to say the least. |
