| Maybe I wasn't plain text enough... This girl sat suffering for DAYS in the shelter. Many YT members called and got details. The Shelter DID want her to be rescued. So MANY members set out to find LOCAL YORKIE RESCUES - Saddly, our pleas to them weren't good enough, b/c she still sat suffering...UNTIL a Non-Breed specific RESCUE stepped up and truly saw a LIFE WORTH SAVING...may she find all the happiness and love that she so deserves... |

Now she is gone and the shelter will not tell us what rescue she went to so we have to question even that. Heartbreaking!

| OK...I did hear back from Robin of All Breed Rescue and Referral. I had written asking her how we could donate to her group. Bitsy IS with her rescue and being fostered by Anne who has been mentioned before. Anne paid for Bitsy's surgery and is most likely going to be adopting her. Here is what Robin's email said: Our funds are very limited and donations would be wonderful as we take many sick and injured. We have a great couple vets who are excellent surgeons but are expensive. I cant let any dog be euthanized because of a health problem that can be fixed. We flew a yorkie in from colorado a few years ago. He had legg Perthes i think it was called. He only had use of his 2 front legs. Today he can run faster and jump higher than any other dog and Sampson is a very happy boy. The problem is I do not know how to set up a paypal account. We rarely get donations so it was never really an issue. I would love it if someone could help me to set it up. I am just not real computer savvy. Oh, the little yorkie girl is doing great after her surgery. She was in unbelievable pain and unfortunately the eye had to come out. She is doing so much better now and pain free! Robins website is out of date as she said...and she does not have a Paypal button, BUT I told her that she can accept donations through Guidestar. She also has a mailing address on her website. While Bitsy's care is currently paid for, Robin has taken in other yorkies in the past and she pays for all the veterinary care on her own! I am going to try to help her set up a way to get more donors and/or donations....in the meantime, I thought some of you might want to donate since she is the one who pulled this darling from that shelter. She could use that money to help other pups. She is going to try to get her site updated soon. Anyway...if you want to donate, you can go to: GuideStar nonprofit reports and Forms 990 for donors, grantmakers and businesses Then do a search for: All Breed Rescue and Referral, Inc. Be SURE you scroll down to the one in Laytonsville, MD Then...you will see a Donate Now button! Of course you can always go to the website and send a check. Be sure to make a note that it is in honor of Bitsy! Here is a recent picture of Bitsy.... and also an update from the lady who is caring for her: Here is Bitsy without her blanket. You can almost see the stitches in her right eye lids. Her left eye is normal, although it is reflecting the light in a strange way. She seems to have been trimmed with scissors; I expect that she was all matted and dirty. She still had a few small mats when I got her. Her incision should heal in another week and then the e-collar can come off. My veterinarian was not sure she could survive the surgery, but we knew that the eye was so very painful that we had to try. Bitsy made it fine and my vet took her home for the night to be sure and to give her pain meds. As soon as she was over the anesthesia, she became frisky and bouncy and has taken to playing with the big dogs and sharing their food, even tho she has her own first. What a girl! bitsy2-09.jpg
