If you visit us and don't find the right animal for your home, please ask the adoption staff about submitting an open application. It gets you approved to adopt without listing a particular animal. Then, when the right animal is available, the application processing time is greatly reduced, since you already completed it! Here are the fees for to adopt: Adoption Fees For dogs $15 For cats $10 License (for PG residents) $25 for unaltered dogs and cats License (for PG residents) $5 for altered dogs and cats Microchip fee $15 for dogs and cats All animals adopted from the Animal Management Facility are spayed and neutered before they leave. | That's what I thought when I first saw her, and look at how wonderful her little 'yorkie tale' turned out! The second little one doesn't even have a name, he is just a number!!! How can people be so Heartless? Isn't there someone out there who was looking for a yorkie and could adopt them? |

| I called the shelter this morning. All three of these yorkies are fine. The female is going to a rescue....the gal who answered did not know which group. Shaggy was adopted yesterday and the other male was reclaimed by his owner. |

| A word about this shelter. Unless the dog is nearly dead or the dog was returned to the shelter after it being adopted out 2 times, will they ever let us have one of their Yorkies. Rescue Me is in touch with every shelter from NYC down to Northern VA and even into NC. We know about the Yorkies that need us but the shelters are just so overwhelmed, that at times it's easier for them to just adopt them out on the spot. This is not to say that some don't work with us, they do, usually a last ditch effort or because one of the staff feels sorry for the dog. We turn no dog away unless it is to be a known biter and even then, at times we do try to work with the dog as best we can. Thanks for all your support. We are out there 24/7 .

We go through that as well! ....every shelter is different. Some only want us with their really sick pups...or with behavior problems. I still call them anyway when I see one....I just do not like to see them slip through the cracks; and I want the shelters to know we are there. Thanks for all you do! Many people do not realize how frustrating rescue is.

That's Great ~ BUT this particular female WAS in dire need of medical attention and the shelter WAS willing to work with a Rescue - The SAD part was we were trying so hard, calling all sorts of Rescues to go and get her, most turned us down...INCLUDING Rescue Me

Please watch what you place in print. We, meaning Rescue Me, does not turn away ANY dog, ever... unless it's a known aggressive dog with biting history and even then we take some of them in. Look at our site and our history. That speaks for itself, thank you.
