| ![]() You can't SELL, you can REHOME. And the most you are allowed to charge for a rehoming fee is $100. But there are some people who break the rules and try to charge people 2,3,4, even 5 hundred DOLLARS!!! That is just crazy. That isn't adopting or rehoming, that is selling. Which is not allowed on CL.

| ![]() It's said. Sometimes it'll just say something like "Sweet 3 month old Yorkie needs a good home. Small rehoming fee to ensure a good home" and may even have a picture. Then you email them and they're like, "it'll be $1000, write back if you're serious."

For $1000 I might as well put in the time and look into a serious breeder and not give BYB any business.

| ![]() I posted an ad on craigslist looking for a male yorkie to be a buddy with my recent rescued female yorkie (who is spayed...) Anyway, I have a few people contact me with rehoming fees that were just like you said. Well, after about 2 weeks, I figured I would not find one. Then, a lady contacted me with a male who was UTD on everything and neutered. They were moving and could not take him with them. She was orginally asking $200. And, that priced included crate, treats, clothes, harness, leashes, bed, etc. After talking on the phone and exchanging several emails....she surprised me one day by telling me that she felt that we would make excellent parents for her fur-baby and if I would take him....I could HAVE him! I was so shocked. And, he came with all his belongs and he is wonderful. He is a blessing. And, he found us...... Last edited by gapeach; 11-06-2008 at 04:32 PM. Reason: misspelled |

| ![]() Hi all! I know I said that I wouldn't look into craigslist again, but oh well I did, and I didn't want to start a new thread about an old subject I started. There was this adorable yorkie mix that needed "re-homing" and well I caved and asked for more info. Here's the response I got. "he is adorable however he is not cheap he is $800 because is a designer dog. He comes with carrier, shot and worming records," I have the biggest urge to respond with a smart allec response about her so called "designer dog." Is there a nice way of letting her know that I'm not falling for labels and educating her a bit?
