a fundraiser is not a bad idea!!!!!!! I am sure I can get some stuff together for the fundraiser. And I bet my dads store (liquor store) would donate some stuff. |

I dunno how we anyone can say they are scammer. Why even post on this thread if you think they scammers. There is a little dog in need and all you care about is deciphering between the real deal and scammers. Punishment will be left up to god for those who actually steal and lie, not those who help anyone, human or animal in need. It is a shame to place such ideas into yorkietalkers head before even investigating your claim. Please go to yorkierescuecolorado.com and read the little guys story, and then please show compassion. No one asked for any money, not even the rescue, they simply put the story out there for suggestion. Please dont just jump to conclusions to discredit their organization. Thank you. |
Calm down everyone, I don't think YorkieDaze saw their link under the siggy or realized these two woman are members of YT. They are a small rescue just trying to save one dog at a time. I do feel it is important if someone thinks a scam is going on to voice their concern..a scam rescue hurts everyone involved but mostly the dogs. I would much rather apolgize to someone then to let them get scammed. |

and they do have a link for donations. Also, Bettyanne has been a member here for ages, I think this is the perfect place for this to be announced. Yes, reputable rescues have webpages with pics of dogs and requests for donations...but I don't think many have all of their costs covered that way. It's a labor of LOVE...not money. Finally, Yorkiedaze...thanks for keeping an eye on things, I too didn't see the link in the beginning. Just trying to share what I just found out. |
I don't mean to put a burr in anyones nickers, but generally when a rescue has a web site it generates a lot of money from donations, adoptions, sales and so on. I just find it a bit strange to see a rescue ask for money on a chat site that's all. |

I do appreciate that we have to be careful. That's is why I am trying to direct people to their website. They can decide for themselves if this is a rescue they wish to donate too. I think this is the perfect place for this discussion. RESCUE's need all the help they can get. |

Will you please tell me where you got the information that backs up the statement you made about a website generating a lot of money for a new rescue? Sadly you are misinformed and you are completely in the dark about the purpose of a website. Saying that having a website makes you legit is the same as saying that pasting wings on your back makes you an angel. Again, you are mistaken - Yorkie Rescue Colorado DID NOT, HAS NOT and WILL NOT ask for donations from this group. It is not allowed. We post purely to inform - not to beg. We have done this long before we had a website - inform the group of what is going on with our rescue. We do it because we are members of this group. Members of this group love Yorkies. If a person chooses to help; that is a personal choice. Our concern and focus is, and always will be, to help Yorkies in need. In Reese's case we do not have the funds to help him. We posted so that those also concerned about the welfare of less fortunate Yorkies could help if they saw fit to do so. Helping makes many people feel good. How about you? I do not apologize for posting about our shortcomings, our lack of funds - our inability to offer immediate help for this Yorkie and I'm sorry if you find it strange. Would it have been more acceptable to turn a blind eye on this dog because we couldn't afford to take him? My heart and my thanks to everyone who has offered suggestions, offered to help in any way. YOU are the people who I post too. YOU are the people who reach out to stroke the matted face of a friendless Yorkie. YOU are the people who save them. Yorkie Rescue Colorado is merely the conduit for your kindness. I will be posting an update on Reese later today. I am expecting and hoping to have some good news for all of us!!!!! Sincerely, Trish Yorkie Rescue Colorado yorkierescuecolorado.com |
Gingergirlsmom, livingdustmops, Tatiana11, TLC & kalina82 ... thank you from the bottom of my heart for your advice, support and effort in trying to help us to help this little one! I am so sorry that I didn't see these posts earlier and if any of you experienced any unpleasantness on our behalf, well, I apologize for that also. I suppose, when you've been here for as long as I have, you just assume that everyone knows you're honest and would never, ever do anything as deplorable as try to "scam" anyone, especially by using a poor defenseless animal to do so! Trish & I have been trying so hard to help every little one that we are contacted about whether it's accept them as surrenders or just advise/refer a distraught owner who doesn't know what to do! I certainly hope that those of you who know us also know that if Trish & I have a crust of bread ... 2/3 of it goes to our babies!! We love and appreciate every one of you and pretty soon I believe that Trish will have some very good news for you all!! ;) |
Looking forward to good news, still no work from the alameda vet!! perhaps since its the weekend, he is lacking. No snow here in aurora/denver yet so it should be an easy commute if the need to go anywhere arises. |

No suffering going on here! I just wish that I could do something more substantial then tell his story. I'm looking forward to news!!! |
just wanted to state again, that if you cannot pay for the surgery and you wait too long, please do not have the owner put him to sleep. Have the leg amputated (i'm sorry if it sounds cruel but its a much better outcome then euthanasia). He will live a long and healthy life this way. Since his break was last week the bones are already starting to mend, but they are probably mending the wrong way. The longer the break goes untreated the harder the surgery is going to be and its going to cost more money. I don't think it was mentioned yet, and if it was i'm sorry i missed it, but do you know what kind of break it is and what exactly is fractured? |
