| Photo editing, printing and framing business! Feedback needed! HHMMMM, I was thinking of offering a photo editing business. Do you all think there would be a market for it? Someone could e-mail me a picture, and I could edit it and then print it for them in multiple sizes (5x7, 8x10, etc.) on high quality photo paper and then frame it for a fee. Just a thought. I know there are lots of Yorkie pictures available, but there is nothing like one of your own, know what I mean? With frame I could charge $15 (I'd have to look into how much it would cost to send a photo in a frame before I'd know what to charge for shipping.) I've really enjoyed editing the few that I have already done on this site. That was not for a charge though of course, that was just for fun. I would only charge to edit print and frame. I have an awesome printer...prints come out professional quality! Here is an example of what I could do.

| Lookin' good. Some frames can get pretty expensive, but $15 seems like a good value for the work involved. Very artsy! |

| I think it's a fantastic idea! There is a definite market out there for your services, as I know lots of people who take ok pics but don't have the editing skills to make them great. I have an old friend with a photo-editing business...check it out for some thoughts: Stephanie's Photo Magic My only concern would be the framing & mailing...seems like you might be wide open for lots of complaints, as far as the glass breaking, frames damaged, etc...all of which can then damage your photo, too. In order to make any money at $15, you'd have to purchase a relatively cheap frame & then add packing materials & shipping/insurance costs...are you really making enough money for your time? (Of course, if you're able to get frames at wholesale, then it's a different story, because your out-of-pocket just dropped roughly in 1/2 for the frames themselves! I've had a scrapbook & greeting card business for a couple of years now, so maybe I've been burned enough times to be cynical? LOL

| Thanks! I am getting excited about it. The frame would have to be a cheap frame...mostly just to get the picture to the customer in a safe way. But, Walmart actually has pretty good frames for under $5, so it wouldn't be too bad. I'm going to ask my husband how much trouble it would be to get a web site put together...then maybe I'll be in business. How fun!!! Thanks for the feedback!

| Go for it Bitsy!!! You have the talent and it never hurts to follow a dream. I am sure you could find business books that explains taxes, write off's, etc to get you lined up for the IRS standing in line for their share. However I think anything under $600.00 made is not taxable ?? Your business is a "service" not "retail" so not sure of all the in's and out's of it to be honest with you. How fun though and keep those pictures coming!!

| I've been having fun editing a picture someone's pup from YT! I wish I could share the before and after, but I am going to give the picture as part of the gift for the YT gift exchange. I will show them after I know this person has them. They look so good!!! Yeah!

| Bitsy, what a great idea to include one of your masterpieces in the exchange! I can't wait to see the before/after! Another idea for the frames...I buy $1 ones (dollar stores, Walgreens, Target's dollar section, etc...) and then embellish them myself. I'm a scrapbooker, so I have tons of supplies around all the time...I sand & paint, add ribbons, buttons, beads, stickers, etc...and they go from plain $1 frame to one-of-a-kind customized beauties!
