| It’s quite all right. After leaving the Fashion Industry after 20+ years I just felt I could give some insight on something I knew about other than Yorkies. I meant no harm to anyone, perhaps just bad timing……..

| Well Surfie and Tiki, Thank you for your insight on how Walmart does business. You did clear up some questions that I had from reading the first thread.

| I e-mailed LuLu Pink last night about their fall line and Walmart because I've been doing the ordering for the dog boutique here for the past year. It REALLy dissapoints me to hear of LULU Pink being sold at Walmart. I just think it is so wrong They were such a great designer brand that could only be found in smaller dog boutiques...and now they are mass producing for Walmart..I mean WHY??? They are going to ruin their designer name. And what dog boutiques are going to buy from them anymore...when lulu pink is charging them 15 dollars for a shirt (wholesale) when it can be bought at walmart for 8.00 retail! Mostly because they paid 15.00 for that shirt meaning they sell it for 30.00 (common markup at dog boutiques is to charge twice the amount you bought it for)...so who is going to buy it at 30.00 when they can get it at walmart for 8? BTW I absolutely HATE Walmart...hate hate hate it. It has ruined small businesses...so sad...and ruined small towns across America, including the one I grew up in. It also basically ruined my family's grocery store business... Anyway, I don't blame anyone one bit for buying a dress at Walmart for $8.00 instead of paying $30 at a dog boutique. I'd do the same thing...a good deal is a good deal. But from the view of someone who works at a dog boutique and orders for it, I'm pretty upset at LuLu Pink...

I hardly ever set foot in a walmart unless I need to go for something specific. I've gone to look at fabric recently and had to go there a couple months ago because it was one of the only places open at midnight, and I bought Lacy's birthday cake there because they have really yummy cakes. I do hate walmart but there are rare times I need to go there (I do try to go somewhere else if I can). If there is a LuLu Pink dress I want for Lacy and I can get it at Walmart for a really cheap price, I'd buy it...as much as I hate walmart, I'd rather have the dress. Sucks that I have to go somewhere I hate to get a good deal and get what I want...

) all three times was for some great deal on some little dress/shirt I saw on YT. Sometimes I just need that little "fix" when I shouldn't being spending money on Tiki's custom clothes. I know I am forgiven as 90% of their wardrobe has come from vendors here........To the dog section, and out I go.......Then there was the Target Christmas doggie sale last year, that was a whole different story. I HOPE they have one this year as well, those were great deals at $2.50 a piece.......

| Sorry guys everyone was a little upset from my thread and they thought your were probably basing this thread on my thread from what was said on there. I understand completely were dog boutiques are coming from! i wanted to actually open one of my own one day but I mean if something is coming out at walmart everyone is eventually going to see it unless their walmart is like the one by my house and doesnt carry anything! So yeah if you sell lulu pink then you probably wont sell too much more of that in your dog boutique because there is somewhere with a better price and its not the persons whos buying its fault its the producers fault! Walmart is right by my house so we of course are going to go where its more convienent for us so we do go to walmart. Im actually glad in a not dog boutique owners view that they are selling lulu pink at walmart! Im 20 a i work hard hard for my money and do have tons of bills but i still have to have cute stuff for my dogs. And in another view the boutiques may still have great sell for lulu pink because some rich people wont step foot in walmart, kmart, krogers, cvs where this brand is being sold! Thanks for this thread tho i didnt know dog boutiques got their wholesale at higher prices! |
