| LOL. I always wondered that too. I think the first bottom band is for the initial ponytail and the top band is to secure the actual top knot. I cut the second band off because my girl's hair is not long enough for a true top knot. I also cut it off because I usually have an initial rubber band on her head that helps secure the hair and then place the actual bow band on top of that. Thus, the second rubber band on the actual bow is useless to me. |

| Just use the two bands together, or let one lie unused. They put two on them so if one breaks you can still use the bow.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm with Shadow - I like them and only use ONE band - but when that breaks - you can then use the other - it makes showbows last much longer so don't cut them out - just hide them or fold them under |

| Duh! thanks I think I used the bottom band before and left the top one and the bow seemed to kinda hang-like the band I used was too low and the bow was too heavy so it hung over? It was a while ago though, so i will try again, thanks to your advice

| Well it is to me because the bands that used for the bows never stay in her hair alone no matter how many times I wrap it. I have to use the rubber bands (the kind for braces) and then put he bow on top of that (I always cut the base rubber band out). I know how fix the rubber band if it breaks anyway. But to those who don't know how to fix it there is also the question of what happens if they both break. |

| If they came with 10 bands, I still couldn't get them in right!! Now that I have a little girl, I am really struggling with this!!!

| I always use both bands figuring I could just attach a new band if one/both broke |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I don't know either!! They are SO frustrating! lol. And I may be in the minority here, but I actually prefer to put a band in MYSELF...and then attach a bow with a CLIP on the back. I personally find it MUCH easier that way.

| Have you ladies tried this trick to get the bands on? Separate the hair section you are going to put in a ponytail by combing it all together and straight up. Pinch your thumb and your pointer finger together. Stretch out the rubber band with your other hand and place the rubber band on the the lower tip of thumb and pointer finger (the fingers that are pinched) then take the band and wrap it around one more time (if needed). With your fingers (and the rubber band still on these fingers) pinch the section of the hair you wish to be in a ponytail. Roll your fingers down and forward. The rubber band rolls right down your fingers onto your baby's hair and there is the ponytail. It took me a few times to do it at first but now it only takes me seconds to get her hair up with this technique. You can also get a tool that looks like scissors that pretty much accomplished the task using the technique above. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Jumping in... Hi, Hate to butt in I make the bows and yes, we have beentold to put two bands that way if one breaks the second can be used and your not out your $$. As far as getting them straight I myself still have issues. Have you tried Puppy Flowers?? You don't need to worry about them being straight. Here's some you can see... http://www.puppywraps.com/gpage3.html
