Rae Rae and Grayson's mom -- thanks for posting about designer fakes $$ being funneled into terrorism. My first reaction was -- really?? But I figured you all must have heard something so I did some googling and sure enough! There are lots of reputable references showing that links have been found to both terrorism and organized crime. So, buying the fakes is supporting terrorism and organized crime. I never thought of that. I don't own any fakes but have to admit I had considered looking for one. I like the Coach bag but could not quite justify the $$. I will never consider a fake now. Thanks for the education! I guess it is a good moral lesson. Little wrongs can definately grow to be a BIG wrong. I knew it would not be a good idea to buy a fake as that would be cheating a big company out of their brand recognition. But when looking at a $600 bag vs a $100 bag -- greed tries to weasel in. Knowing that the money eventually finds its way into terror and crime pockets, will keep me from making the mistake.

It's good to know that our postings helped atleast 1 person reconsider fakes! I only have one fake purse, it's a prada that my grandma bought for me, but since my grandma bought it, I'm not gonna get rid of it or anything. It says prada on it, but really small and you can't tell. This was also a few years ago when I got it, and was uninformed about it.

it offends me that u guys say that buying fakes helps fund crime cause i used to sell fakes in the alleys of la to make a living i had my own shop and everything i had to buy the bags from china then resell them here and try to make some profit i would just call up some old friends but i no longer have there numbers thats why im posting okay so stop being rude im open to all ur opinions okay

No one is trying to offend anyone, so please don't take it that way, and I apologize if I offended you. You were on the lower end of the chain of supply for the fakes, what about the people who manufactured them? Where did the money go that you bought the fakes with? What did those who you bought from use the money for? The business of fakes is illegal, and if you sold them I'm sure you are aware of that. Rather you sold them to make a living or not, it doesn't change the fact that they are illegal. You just helped the criminals profit. Money profited from fakes does not all go into good hands, and that's that. No one is trying to offend anyone, were just trying to inform people of why fakes are no good.

So you think your selling fake bags from China was okay and doesnt possibly fund crime? First off, if they are knockoffs then that means that someone stole someone else design in order to profit off their name & reputation that they worked very hard to establish- did they not? Also if they were made in china, do you think it was a bunch of middle aged adults working for $10 and hour that made those bags? No. And is it legal for you to sell knock offs in the USA? No! THUS, it is a crime.

Everyone will have their own opinion about knockoffs. Why is it ok for someone to make a inspired Lv item with the lV 's on the item but think its okay beecause it is said to be INSPIRED. its still stealing the logo. there are alot of people that have them so what big deal even Paris hilton has been known to sport designer replicas.

Stealing a logo and making knock-offs are illegal, so no matter what anyone thinks, it's still against the law. I don't think theirs anything wrong w/ marijuana (I don't do it, I just don't think its any worse than drinking though) but it's still illegal. A lot of people smoke weed, does that make it any more legal?

Also, Paris Hilton has been known to drive under the influence, does that make it right?

Actually in China factory-jobs are very popular, this is a developing nation. I think it's more like in the under-devoloped nations where the child-labor is a bigger problem. Another interesting fact that I learned is that in China and other countries they might make less, but their cost of living is less. In some of those countries they can afford to live off of $3/hr.

But I so agree with you on everything else Designers work hard to establish their names and logos, and then they get ruined by a bunch of copycats. It's really sad. It like someone using your term paper and getting an A with it, when your the one who worked your butt of on it.


Did anyone else catch that first she wants Coach or LV, but now she's saying the only reason she wants a fake is because Coach doesn't make one to match her shoes??? Then what was the reason for the LV one?
