| Buddy Belt owners - I need your help! I have found a great deal on buddy belts and I want to get one for my little guy, but I can't decide which size to get! I don't have my pup yet so I can't measure him, but the breeder says he's currently 2.5 lbs and he'll grow to an adult weight of 4.75 to 5.25 lbs. A size 2 is for a 2-4 lb dog, 10-12 inch girth A size 3 is for a 4-8 lb dog, 12-14 inch girth Based on that, he's currently a size 2, but will be a size 3 full grown. I did some searching on threads and I saw that some users commented that the leather is a little too heavy if you buy it too big, so I'd rather buy the size 2 now so I can start walking him right away. I guess what I'm asking is...do you think the size 2 would be really too small for him when he's full grown? If any of you have a similar size dog, what size do you use? |

| I googled Buddy Belt and saw it is a nice leather step-in harness. The size will be tough -- do not think there will be a size that will fit his whole growing stage. You seem to have it about right -- a size 2 now and possibly a size 3 full grown. You can always sell it here when he outgrows the size 2 and use that towards a new one.

| Ruthie and Oscar both wear buddy belts. Oscar is 3.5lbs and wears a size 2 buddy belt - I got a size 2 when he was teeny and it still fits him now - plus the leather is nice and worn in and soft. These harnesses are NOT heavy at all. Ruthie is 2.4lbs and wears a size 1 right now - I originally bought her a size 2 thinking she would be like Oscar but I guess she was just much teenier when I brought her home and I had to go down to a size 1 - mind you, there's still lots of room for her to grow into the size 1. BuddyBelts are fantastic! but like someone else suggested - maybe just buy a little inexpensive harness for her now and buy the buddy belt for when she is a little bigger rather than buying two buddy belts - they are pretty pricey (unless you found a REALLY good deal?)

| Love the buddybelts, bought 2 for Rosi last yr, hot pink and purple, she weighs 5 1/2 pounds and is 20 month and she has been wearing size 3 and she wont ever outgrow hers. Poli well he wears her other size 3 and lets say if he keeps going he is gonna need a size 4 only got 1 more hole to go ! The leather is soo soft, and the other thing , i had to pick her up once to get her out of harms way and it did not hurt her ! Plan on getting a couple more !

| Great news! I just got off the phone with my mom and she says she wants to buy my little guy a nice xmas present so this isn't going to cost me a thing! She's giving me the money for my buddy's Buddy Belt! I think I'm going to go with the size 3. I figure since it's Winter soon I'm going to have him in winter coats for the next few months anyways, so the size 3 would probably fit him nicely over his coat. Then once it's warm again he'll be big enough for it to fit properly. What do you think? RMKC - on what notch does Rosi wear her belt? Tight or in the middle? Thanks for all your help guys! |
