| I emailed petedge for the ingredients in GloCoat. Their response: This is a proprietary blend of ingredients, all of which are at least cosmetic grade. GloCoat also includes dimethicone. Dimethicone is used in food machines in cafeterias as a lubricant as it is non-toxic. I just googled dimethicone and it is a type of silicone. So this is a no go for my Molly? Val |

| I'm glad you found out! I'm still going to use it on Lexy though. At least until her adult hair comes in. Puppy hair is so cottony and mats too easily and this product really helped her. Thanks for investigating the ingredients!

This is why I don't recommend a product with Silicone (when you described how the product worked and the fact that it repelled dirt, I had a good hunch what the product was made of). It's not that the stuff is harmful. i don't any idea that it is or isn't - but I do know that over the long term, it is NOT good for your Yorkie's hair. It will dry the coat out over time. | |

| EEnsor- Make sure you still keep up with the regular baths. Maybe not every week but regular. Yorkiepower is right this will turn against you over time but it is a great product to use between baths to keep her looking great. We use it at work on our dogs that come in regularly (usually every 2-3 weeks). Most owners love the way thier dogs look but we make sure that they know that if the product is left in the hair for long periods of time it does damage the hair. Just a little grooming info- Kelly |

| Hey Ot. Well it's 12 AM my time so I can't go into much detail (beleive it or not I was just checking web orders and packing stuff to be shipped out tormorrow!). I did post something a little while ago about Penny at a show and her spot on Sex in the City. She has two shows this weekend, so please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us and I promise to write more next week. That sound OK? Thanks for asking! |

| Eensor- This stuff is fine to use regularly as long as you keep up with the baths. It is a great product to use to keep your baby looking great between baths. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that you shouldn't use it and not bath your dog regularly. Don't panic. This is a great product and I will would use it on my dog if it had a longer coat too. | It works great but you just dont want to leave it on for too long without bathing the dog since the silicone will dry out the coat |

| Oh! So its okay to bathe her once a week and use it on her everytime? That's what I think you're saying. I wonder how the silicone damages the hair if it is left in too long? I can't imagine not bathing a Yorkie every week to 10 days! The get so dirty and stinky if you don't! LOL Thanks for the info!

| yes you got it. for some reason silicone will dry out over time. Dont really know why. Most of the yorkies that we take care of at work come in once a week. If you need any other grooming info just ask. If I dont have the answer I will find it for you. Kelly |
