Carrier to take on Northwest Hi Need help. We are taking Lucinda to New York with us. She weighs 6.5 pounds now. We are flying Northwest. Their internet site says carrier can only be 17L x 12W x x 8 inches high. Our carrier is about that size....16x11x9. She looks crunched in it. So I called Northwest. I told them that Sherpa says that their bag meets regulations and it is much bigger 19x11.5x11.75. The guy on the phone wasn't a whole lot of help. He said "Its just gotta fit under the seat". Has anyone flown Northwest? Do you think that Sherpa bag will not be too long or too high? We would sure like her to be able to have a bigger bag. Thanks!

We have flown a lot (not on Northwest though) Annie's bag is 14 x 8.5 x 11 and she is about 7.5 lbs. She seems to do just fine in that size bag and it fits just perfectly under the seat. So I'm sure that Lucinda will do fine in the bag that you have...

i think it depends on the lady at the counter when you check in. if they are rule followers they can deny you or force you to buy one of their airline approved carriers at an outragous price.
