A local Greenies scare!!

my greenie scare hit home. I lost my 10 month old Lhasa Aspo about 4 months ago due to greenies. I had always given them to her since she I got her from the breeder because she told me she loved them... One Sunday she puke and it had a big chuck on a greenie in it... Didnt think much about it just thought she ate it too fast. Later on in the day she begin puking more but still acting her usually self.. we called the vet but they said that it probably upset her stomach, not to worry since she was acting ok. Well by Monday morning when I woke up, she had puke a million times in her cage and was a very sick dog. I rushed her to vet and they came out and told me that they done xrays and she had a greenie lodged in her intestines and that it had wripped a small hole in them and she had been bleeding internally. She was to week to do any surgery and the vet said she would not make it... He suggested to put her to sleep... Well I just couldnt do it.. but them I seen the pain she was in and how terrible she felt and they did it... She was the best dog I'd ever had. So please dont give greenies...

Denise honey, I am so very sorry for the loss of your Lhsaa Apso. That is so sad...

I am shocked that Greenies as a company cannot see the trouble they cause and change their product so that it is 100% digestible.

If any of you want to do something for your dog's teeth, brush them. If they won't let you brush, try using Wysong's Dentatreat . Hard kibble should keep tarter reduced. You can also give nylabones or something hard enough to let them chew but not swallow anything.

I am so happy that people are reading this and quitting Greenies! You just may be saving your pet's life!
