| Helping Someone.... I didn't criticize her. When was helping someone considered to be a such? I think her site is cute. And could be very successful. I gave her several suggestions on how to INCREASE traffic to her website and how to engage customers into purchasing more product. I am sorry that you misunderstood my post. Quote:

Nothing positive can come from posting this in a public forum. JMO from another business graduate.

| I found it very unprofessional and invasive as well. I also thought your comments on this thread and other areas of this forum are only to advertise YOURSELF. |

| and let me tell you why.... ...I didn't do that. Other online pet boutique owners can benefit from the same information. This is business folks. And there are 22.1 MILLION websites that sell dog products. That's a whole lot of doggie toys, mind you. Luxury dog products is a niche industry. Now, while the industry is at $34 BILLION, expect to double in 5 years to a whopping $68B; designers can barely keep up with demand as it is. Did you know that the likelihood for a first time business owner to succeed within the first year is only 34% (offline)? Anyone can create a website and sell products. It takes a BUSINESS owner to make it work. There are two different types of female business owners: 1. straight forward, direct and to the point business - no gossip, no chit chat, no nonsense. just business and relationship building 2. gossip, rumors, sensitive, somewhat jealous business women who do know a great deal about business; but rely on gossip to meander their selves through the industry (mind you, they won't last in business) Owning a company is long hours, little pay (in the beginning), overnighters, putting your company ahead of everything else so you can focus on creating independency, financial security and more time with family. But, let's face it...it takes a lot of hard work, hours, blood, sweat and tears in the beginning. I have a great deal of respect for all business owners as much as I do for customers. But, I gotta tell you - some of you think I am sitting here on my laptop going from site to site (mind you, I don't have the time to do such a thing) and criticizing websites for the fun of it. Not true. I am hoping that the operators pay attention to what I am saying for my advice turns companies into profit building entities - the intention of every business owner I know! Quote:

| You're just being incredibly rude; we don't need to be "talked down to", mind YOU. You're offended me and possibly everyone else with an education. Last week, the Today Show had a special about doggie boutiques. They stated all the information you just posted about business figures and the industry. That's great. Let people run their businesses they way they choose. Smilies don't make everything better

| Oh Really? I am sorry you think that. Someone comes along and wants to help out people without charging a single dime and the only thing you can say is that I am trying to advertise myself--while everyone else is making sure their website link is on EVERY post of their own? Uh? I am not even a retailer. If you go to Bella POOCH - the only thing a consumer can do is sign up for Bella POOCH Membership - which hasn't even launched yet. Do you think I am soliciting my services to attract other business owners? Why would I do that? I have enough business coming in as it is. And if I was independently wealthy - I would consult for free, but alas, I am not. I LOVE what I do. I LOVE helping people. Why do you or anyone else feel the need to twist my advice or words around and say that I am doing for myself? What should I have thought of some other screen name and posted anonymously? Would that make you feel better? Someone sent me a private email a few minutes ago asking me to take a look at her website. I told her I would love too...and I am not even going to mention a thing about my services or fees. I WANT to help her. Please tell me: what is wrong with wanting to help people? My target business is a startup business owner launching an offline luxury pet boutique. OFFLINE. And while I work with many designers, I sell a great deal of product for them each year. I deliver to them boutiques and companies that will remain in business for years to come.....but, yet you tell me that I am doing it to advertise my services? Where have I done that? I have offered my PROFESSIONAL opinion and some of you judge me for that opinion. I am truly sorry if I offended anyone on this forum, but I am going to continue to post on this website and offer FREE business and marketing advice in order to help someone's company grow. It's to the industry's benefit that consumers purchase from retailers and designers sell to retailers....and yes, that ALL professional business and marketing consultants as well as PR, advertising and promotion experts help where they can to build this niche industry and support the small business owners. Good thing I didn't post a picture of my Westie on my profile....I wouldn't want anyone to think I am trying to show her off! <Disclaimer: the last line is meant to be funny> Quote:

| ....oh, yes...one more thing... I do post my website so that those of you who take my advice the proper way know that it is coming from a professional in the industry. Bad advice is not good advice. And if you cannot confirm the identity of the person giving you advice, then what makes you think it is indeed professional advice on this particular industry? |

| This is a dog forum for people who love Yorkies, not a place to talk about business, advice on businesses and business deals. I'm sorry, but you've really struck a nerve with me.

| BellaPooch: Brooke is a great member of our forum and when we see someone come in and criticize for no reason, we like to defend our own. You are posting tedious information that NO ONE has asked for and I have also noticed that you have been posting info about your site on other threads. Your coming here and negatively commenting about a member's business site is not going to get people to come over and shop with you, if anything it will probably lead to people boycotting your site. |

| I am sorry, Brooke, that you were offended by my public suggestions. Truly I am. I just sat here thinking to myself, "Why am I defending myself against those I just gave advice too?" Do you realize that I am on YOUR side and that my advice, whether it be public or private will help you grow your business? Not only that, it will help others who also own online pet boutiques. You completely misunderstood my intentions. I responded to your comment, agreed with you, complimented you and the moment I gave you suggestions....look what developed from that? Where in any of what I wrote did you take negatively? I mean, how could you??? It's sad that even online, people will look for and find a reason to put some down (personally), pick a fight, start an arguement or whatever.....gang up on someone --- like many of you are doing to me. <sigh> Oh, well. We as humans are still not perfect. Thankfully, our dogs love us no matter what. Quote:
